Cubase Tutorials?
    #2242388 - 01/14/04 05:32 PM (20 years, 2 months ago)

After putting off learning this amazing program due to laziness, I finally am getting fed up with Fruity Loops, now that I have some kick ass softsynths and not the prog to handle em.

Anyone have a source of Cubase SX tutorials, either video, pdf, text, anything?  I need a little guidance, or I'll be swimming in random experimentation on how to turn on an instrument for months...

Any help would be greatly appreciated

what kind of information are you looking for? If you can't find a tutorial, I suggest just asking questions here.

Actually, this music-making forum might be better

well, I would just ask questions here, but I think what would help the most is some sort of guide around the program...
I just want to cut down the clueless clicking and experimenting and go straight from guided learning, I guess.

Thanks for the forum link, that seems to be a helpful place too.

I had to fuck around with Cubase in the studio over here, and I found it to be kind of counter-intuitive. I think this is what often happens when programmers design stuff to do with music. It happened with the early synthesizers as well...

It's supposed to be one of the better studio programs/applications in its price range, but I'm afraid I can't tell you much. I try real hard to avoid being drafted as a recording engineer around here, so I let it all leak out of my brain as soon as I learn it...

Are you running it with a Mark Of The Unicorn as well?

MOTU DP4 = most elegant and intuitive of them all.

woah, you use MOTU?

DP4 is just like DP3 but better...
the 828mkII is now in the tent,
the setup is pristine and click / latency free.

a friend @ SF MIDI Mafia just aquired Machfive Sampler for DP installer CD.
but he can't crack the iLock in Unix... can anyone help?

and he figured out how to auto-reset demo expire in Waves Platinum 4 for DP.
this is a great accomplishment because a crack for OSX does not exist.

he has also aquired a sweet VST to MAS patch...

i would like to add that if anyone plans to $ell their music,
it is best to legitimately purchase your software and samples.

but if you intend only develop your skills and Musik,
and Let Go of the illusion of ownership,
PM w/ email addy, and it will get to SFMM.

anyway, Blastriddle, just a couple more weeks...

I don't use DP, but at the U of A recording studio, where I interned for a bit, they use it there and I learned a bit of it.

Dude, brah, homes... thanks for the look out, can't wait.
Feel free to "accompany" them with anything else of entertainment.

You, uh, ya know, uhh want anything, Mr. Mind full of Sound?
