I have some gandoli and I cant get any tyvek, will this matter? I have a really clean space to put the jars without any air flow.

ive read that tyvek is needed under the lid to keep out the contaminates because they need to sit for a few months. I dont use it with regular cubes and i havent had any problems. i was just wondering if it is nessicary for the screlotia

Yes, for long term storage you need the gas exchange. You can use Polyfil stuffed tightly in ¼" hole instead.

I've only used polyfill for gas exchange and they've done ok.
