"Sweden Democrats has risen to 21.5 percent...Social Democrats, with 25.7 percent of support"
Looks like the Mal might find himself in the minority when it comes to his views on immigration in his country.
21,5 should be compared with the percentage of people not agreeing with their immigration policies, not with one specific party. The rest of the parties disagree with them to I.e 21,5% vs 78,5%...
Quote:
qman said: "The rest of the parties disagree with them...78.5%"
I hardly think the rest of the parties don't want restriction on immigration. Either way, the trend is very telling and it's very similar to the trend changes in the UK, US, Germany and France.
Are you trying as hard as you can to debate dishonestly or what is happening here?
You makes claims that my views are soon a minority based on the fact that the sweden democrats has risen to 21,5% which is almost as much as the social democrats.
The social democrats and the rest of the parties, i.e. 78,5%, are against the immigration ideas of the sweden democrats, but they still do want to restrict immigration (how much differs between the parties off course). Maybe one of the smallest parties (<6%) wants are more or less open boarders, but even that is a stretch...
How am I soon a part of a minority because one of those parties almost have less votes than the sweden democrats?
Please bring fourth that A in logic.
I actually misinterpreted a part of the article, my bad.
With that being said, what is the difference between no more immigration and new restrictions on immigration into Sweden? Both positions are aimed at LIMITING immigration from the current policy.

Hmm, do you think the German's, French, Italians and others in the EU have the luxury of just ignoring Islam on their doorsteps?

Consider yourself lucky, many EU citizens can't say the same thing.

Yeah I can sort of see that The Espastic lives in a very privileged, middle-class bubble. He is trying to be like Malkuthian but does not have the life experience.

He using a completely disingenuous argument, he's basically saying if some culture, religion or policy doesn't affect me directly, I should just ignore the issue entirely.
I'm sorry, but when I see discriminatory polices such as Affirmative Action, quotas, illegal immigration and Political Correctness, I'm going to stand up and voice my opposition against it.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area which has a quarter million Muslims and is only 50% white. I work with Muslims, many of whom were born and educated in the Middle East.
Yet the SF Bay Area is one of the most well off areas in the country.
The only reason I can possibly come up with why you would say such nonsense is that you're racist.
-------------------- I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them. I also attack my side if I think they're wrong. People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

Let me guess, the Muslims that live in that area entered the US legally, are highly educated and have assimilated quite well into US culture.
Do you have no go zones in San Francisco? Do you think the Muslims in the SF area are the same as what the EU is dealing with? Or is the EU filled with a bunch of racists?
Maybe SF is the exception to the rule, did you ever consider that reality?

American Muslims who can afford to live in SF are the absolute cream of the cream of what the Muslim world has to offer.
They are absolutely in no way representative of the hordes of inbred plebs who have driven the European working classes out of their traditional neighbourhoods.

I grew up dirt poor. My father was in the navy and my mother worked retail.
We never had money for shit. Once I turned 16 I paid for everything on my own and have ever since, including college. My parents just bought their first home a couple years ago and will be lucky to pay off their mortgage before they die.

Thats not what I'm saying at all. You have serious difficulty with reading comprehension. Half of all replies to you are clarifications of what the person meant because you misrepresented their argument. This isnt a coincidence.
You claim that cultural diversity is being crammed down your throat. But it isnt. Nobody is forcing you to entertain, accept, or promote anybody's culture.

Islam isn't compatible with Western culture, I consider that a problem at many different levels.
Are your standards so low for Muslims that you measure their success in Western culture based on if they're "dangerous" or not?
How come you don't measure their success based on domestic crime rates, embracing civil liberties, embracing democracy, embracing education, employment, and being respectful to Western culture?

It was for the Welsh.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welsh_people
Quote:
The names "Wales" and "Welsh" are traced to the Proto-Germanic word "Walhaz" meaning "foreigner"
Although the Welsh language and its ancestors have been spoken in what is now Wales since well before the Roman incursions into Britain, John Davies argues that the origin of the "Welsh nation" can be traced to the late 4th and early 5th centuries, following the Roman departure.[14]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglo-Saxon_settlement_of_Britain
Quote:
The Anglo-Saxon settlement of Britain describes the process which changed the language and culture of most of England from Romano-British to Germanic. The Germanic-speakers in Britain, themselves of diverse origins, eventually developed a common cultural identity as Anglo-Saxons. This process occurred from the mid 5th to early 7th centuries, following the end of Roman power in Britain around the year 410. The settlement was followed by the establishment of Anglo-Saxon kingdoms in the south and east of Britain, later followed by the rest of modern England.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_conflict_in_Anglo-Saxon_Britain
Quote:
449: Vortigern invites Anglo-Saxons to come and help them against the Picts, who were raiding the east coast, and allows them to settle on "The eastern side of the island."[11] (The name Vortigern may mean "Great King" rather than being a lifelong personal name.) 455: [ASC 1] (Battle of Aylesford: Here Hengest and Horsa fought against Vortigern the king, in the place that is called Aylesford, and his brother Horsa was slain; and after that Hengest took the throne with Æsc, his son.) 457: [ASC 2] (Here Hengest & Æsc fought against Britons in the place which is called Crecganford and there slew 4000 men, and the Britons abandoned Kent and with great fear fled to London.) c. 460, Treachery of the Long Knives, Death of all British chieftains, Begin of violent land grab by Anglo-Saxons. 466: Battle of Wippedesfleot [ASC 3] Here Hengest and Æsc fought together against the Welsh (meaning 'foreigner': the manner in which the invaders referred to the Britons) near Wippedesfleot and there slew 12 Welsh leaders, and one of their thanes was slain, whose name was Wipped. [This battle is said to have resulted in much bloodshed and slaughter on both sides, to the extent that hostilities abated for a while thereafter. It is not known where Wippedesfleot (= "Wipped's tidal estuary") was.]) (etc.)
I thought you would like this story qman. The Romano-Britons hired Angles and Saxons from overseas to come and help defend the isles in exchange for territory and food supplies. The German invaders renege on the deal and end up taking over England (Angle, England) and pushing the natives into the north and calling them foreigners (Welsh).
