i dont know what the % turn out is these days in the US but in Europe its lucky to be in the 60s. i wonder at what percentage it would have to be for it to be widely accepted its not representative anymore. People are saying it already really but the game goes on.

electoral reform is definitely needed. There should at least be a "none of the above" box, otherwise the spoiled votes are just put down to incompetance rather than a statement. In America, money and politics have to be separated.

We can cast blank votes. A none of the above so to speak. Can't you? We can simply not select any party but still show up and hand in our blank form. In that case you will be counted in the statistics for the turn out but you didn't actually vote.

Why are they the "far" right?  Looks like a pejorative prejudice against people with different beliefs.

well yes absolutely but maybe that is not clear enough. People who don't fill in the voting card properly also get classed as a blank vote i guess. Voting analysts can just put it down to voter incompetence and say people are just retarded and cant fill it in properly. If you had a none of the above box then you can tell the difference between the fools that can't fill in the card and those who just have no confidence in the system/candidates. makes it crystal clear.

Our 'far right' party is actually very left wing in most subjects but very xenophobic and nationalist on top of that.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Far-right_politics#Definition_and_terminology

its just what you call it..

Quote:

Far-right politics commonly include authoritarianism, anti-communism, and nativism.Often, the term "far right" is applied to fascists and neo-Nazis, and major elements of fascism have been deemed clearly far-right, such as its belief that supposedly superior people have the right to dominate society while purging allegedly inferior elements, and—in the case of Nazism—genocide of people deemed to be inferior. Claims that superior people should proportionally have greater rights than inferior people are sometimes associated with the far right. The far right has historically favoured an elitist society based on belief of the legitimacy of the rule of a supposed superior minority over the inferior masses. Far-right politics usually involves anti-immigration and anti-integration stances towards groups that are deemed inferior and undesirable.Concerning the socio-cultural dimension (nationality, culture and migration), one far-right position could be the view that certain ethnic, racial or religious groups should stay separate, and that the interests of one’s own group should be prioritised.

I guess it would be clearer. But if the percentage gets high enough I doubt anyone will think its incompetence. I should probably run a youtube campaign to get everyone to cast a blank vote next election. It has a huge potential to go viral

Its what you call it to disparage it.  They would not generally compare themselves to fascists and neo-nazis.  That is just shit talking by people who disagree.

LOL

yeh so only rich, predominantly white, people can have the vote? less than 70% of the country? poor people work hard too you know! probably significantly much more than rich people. you just think they are laying around all day?

I thought conservatives are supposed to care about the principles of the founding fathers, of the constitution and all that jazz?

you know trump inherited a shit ton of money? its easier to make money when you already have loads. people born with money act like they worked really hard for it and it was all by themselves.

Its a disparaging comment done to minimize and dehumanize them.  The same thing is done when the Islamic State is referred to as "extremists" by journalists and politicians.

That's a bit much.

What is the politically correct label for them then? For the French National Front and ISIS?
