hello shroomery, I was just wondering how many of you cant wait to start up them outdoor patches, for those of you that have never done an outdoor patch and are struggling to produce mushies indoors and fighting off contams I strongly suggest you go with mother nature, its the way it spose to be, let alone the easyest thing ive ever done.
I completely gave up on indoor growing after last summer, cubies dont even grow natural around here but they sure seem to in my backyard.

this post is just to let all of the new growers out there know their is a much easyer way

outdoor growing is an option for about 70 days a year up here. That's not gonna cut it.

Hell, I love a patch outdoors just as much as the next guy, but my access is severly limited by weather.

Don't get me wrong. I love them, and have some. However most of the year we go without.

The upside to that is if I ever feel like selling a few of my "extras" I could probably get $20 per dry gram.

there can be quite a lot of mushrooms obtained in 70 days...more than anyone could certainly use in a year.

me! I have some going right now, I live where they will grow year round but I like indoor better since it's quicker and more work (a good thing)

Yup, and the outdoor patches supply much more potent strains :nut: than I am able to grow indoors.

I still love indoor mushies, there just so fresh and you dont have to worry about those devil slugs

But an outdoor patch after a rain storm is a beutifull thing

An out door patch after a few hours under my garden hose is pretty cute too.

Last summer, I gave it a half-assed effort with manure in a plant pot. It flushed weakly, but i didn't pick any of them. I was more interested in seeing how it would work out.

Observations:
Need more spawn
Need to mix poo with straw and/or straw
Next time it's going in the ground and not in a container

But yep, overall, I'm giving it another go next summer!

I hear that its almost like they grow there selfs(well I guess they do) but anyway

Ive never used manure in a outdoor patch i just use straw/peat/oyster and lime but the patch only flushes abot 4 times at the most I wonder if a manure patch would last longer and flush more

anybody know?

I'm sure manure would provide alot more nutrients than straw and peat.
