Where are the spores?
    #2261098 - 01/21/04 10:38 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

I grew some PF on a straw log thinking it was B+, didn't know it was PF untill they bloomed, so I decided to make a few prints off of these small fatties, but for some reason my caps haven't dropped spores. I tried 2x now and I've picked the cap after ithas opened. Any reason why my caps aren't dropping spores?

I have done this before.

thanks

Sometimes fruits are sterile (having no spores). Maybe someone who knows will tell us why. What makes you think they're PF?

you should wait until the cap flatens out some and then it usually produces spores. Let one shroom flatten way out and it should start dropping spores if not it could be sterile

I had the same problem with some amazons.Like che night soil said sometimes they don't have any spores. But try waiting until you see spores dropping before you pick to make sure they're not sterile. And I'd also try the 2nd flush for spores maybe you'll have better luck.
