casing how to sterilize

I have allways pasturized it or sterilized in the pc but I feel lazy. I am going to do the 60 coir 40 verm. Does the microwave really work and if so how should I do it. Do you guys think the mix of coir and verm is better than just one of them? Thanks guys

Ive always used my microwave for casing mix. Put it in a microwavable bowl, nuke for 10 minutes on high, let sit for 10 minutes, then nuke for another 5-10 minutes. Let cool and case.

do I add the right amount of water before putting it in the oven? and what temp and for how long?

if u want me to love you, you can try 3 jars of casing, one in the oven, one in the microwave, and one you dont sterilize at all. post the results and me love you long time. good luck either way!

for coir/verm? it would be a major pain in the ass keeping the water content right, microwave works fine just make it so when you squeeze some water comes out and nuke it for 10mins and then 5 like other dude said, never had any issues with it.

on second thought it's in a bag so water content might not be a big issue but microwave is so much easier.
