man i know this sounds dumb as it gets but is all san pedro the same?i mean the ones at home depot the same as they sell at speaking plants?very very intrested in starting a cactus garden that can be passed on to my childrens children, jus need a place to start,peace

regarding trichs, they're very 'tricky' to recognize sometimes!
try to ignore it's spination (absent to almost absent in san pedro or very long in peruvian torch) and recognize it rather through the general form of the ribs structure/areoles, which is always almost the same.
you should be also aware that cacti are big shapeshifters, probably due to their great hability to hold water within.

all Trichocereus pachanoi are the same species, yes. it is possible that home depot might have thier cacti mislabled [i've seen it a lot] but thye are easy to recognize if you know what to look for and have seen one before.

i'm glad to hear of your interest in cacti going further than just eating them. if you let yourself get locked into a serious cactus collection, it's easy to take it as far as you can...

kudos fer the quick replies, so i guess im just gonna bite the bullet on this one and order a few online to start my collection. nother 50-60 years should be a massive garden of sacred fruits. peace
