Personally I'd wait a few more days.. I don't like casing anything until I see at least 70% coverage. Keep in mind I've never tried dung.

poo spawned with a mix of millet wheat, and popcorn fruited uncased for first flush wish caseing layer was applied results probably would have been better

thats a below par 1st flush isn't it.did you case those after that flush? is that the only time you have ever fruited with no casing and got such a small harvest?

here's a question a little off the topic. if you're doing a bulk substrate of poo and say straw in a 30-40 gallon tub, how many casings approximately would that require and also would the smell from the tub(poo) be any problem? looking for any input...thanks.

that was over a year ago but yeah bellow par indeed. nope they weren't cased second flush, think they were used for out door beds after that. haven had much exp caseing usually fruited uncased like this one
they droped so many spores it looks like a caseing layer. but yeah uncased sucks so coco is being used now
first time even trying a 60/40 mix or caseing with anything but yes generally harvests are decent but not great think the mature fruits shown above were around 3 1/2 - 4 oz fresh but dont know for sure.

Density is also a factor. Did you squish the shit out of your shit? Growth will suddenly explode in a very dense substrate. If it's looser the mycelium has to travel gaps. I collonized some poo in a mason jar one packed dense and one loosely. The loose one did what you're describing. Fluffy growth. The dense jar didn't seem to do anything for like 2 weeks (except on top), then one day I checked it and it literaly looked like ice crystals were forming everywhere. 2 days later it was the most rhizomorphic densly collonized poo I'd ever seen! Some bulk teks even go so far as to put bricks on your poo and/or straw to compress it.

its just that its only half fluffy and the rest is flat mycilium. it seems that the fluffy part is growing more since 2 days ago. Do you think maybe 2 more days or just go for it by the way OI if that should matter. Any more info would be great

well I don't see how 2 more days could hurt, just to see what it looks like. I think the impotant thing is to get the casing on before the primordia and pins form.
