San Pedro in the desert?
    #2258134 - 01/21/04 12:53 AM (17 years, 10 months ago)

Once my San Pedro cuttings arrive my friend and I are planning on going to a nearby desert and eating 1 foot of cacti each, this is my first time on san pedro and one thing I learned from mushrooms is that often times visuals are more prominent in the dark, is this also the case with San Pedro? Trip in the desert at night or day? Or maybe trip in complete darkness at home? I ordered from bouncingb.com, any comments on dosage or suggestions for my Pedro experience?

Visuals are always stronger if it is dark. Here in Seattle you can often trip in the day cause its over cast, but night time is still best.

Be careful to not get lost if you go to the desert. I know it sounds stupid, but especially in the dark it's really easy. Once on 5g of cubes 3 friends and I ended up having to build a fire to keep warm and wait 'tll morning to find our camp site. But the desert is amazing and can be extremely intense. Oh ya, and it gets super cold at night just incase you didn't know.

I'd try staying home and eating 1 foot of cacti first. First time tasting san pedro can be a pretty horrendous experience.

Pedro is a very slow, gentle trip. Anything up to 3 hours to come on and anything from 9-12 hours gentle tripping after that. Might be a long time sitting in the desert.

For a trip out in the desert you might be better off doing a simple mescaline extraction and popping up a couple of gelcaps of pedro alkaloids than eating a foot of cactus.
