pf tek is probably the greatest in terms of allowing the home grower to realistically grow with a minimum of effort... but i think glad press'n'seal is going to really pave the way for enabling anyone who has a few bucks to try their luck at cultivating fungi
-------------------- "A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty." -Al Einstein

I would prefer to think of things like this, that so much of the discoveries and techniques made up over the past few years have been so useful that its hard to pick anything specific that stands out. Its all good. Things like new substrates, bulk, automisation are all great ideas, but there are so many we are spoilt.
The best discovery (in cultivation) someone could ever make would be to discover this site.

I really find the whole automation thing to be a huge step for us lazy-ass's. I have mine almost up and functioning the way I want and I can see how it will be very beneficial when I am away at work. When it is up and running I will take some pic's. I will post them once they exist.

I would have to agree with "The Shroomery" one. I wouldn't have learned to grow, without it.
