Long time not been here, nice to see its still alive. But here we go:
I've got this idea on making a flowhood, creating a sterile environment for doing all kinds of kinds when growing shrooms.
I've seen a professional flowhood once at a regular mushroom grower. And all I saw was a big 'closet'. It sucked surrounded air trough a HEPA filter and blew it in the closet. Het closed was not intirely closed, but the incoming air from above made a sterile environments.
SO, I wanted to have this device.. but seen the price of the thing, it would be impossible. Then i got myself thinking of taking the same principle of the professional flowhood, and building a comparing device. I happen to have a regular kitchen flowhood ( the one who sucks your nasty food smells away) I took it apart, and I see an option to reverse the system, not blowing air up, but down in to the hood itself.
Now, If I build a closet of glass plates underneath the flowhood and leaving the front window just half open to have room for your hands.
Then, the tricky part, getting the air sterile. I was thinking of buying a house-hold- HEPA filter ( the one they use in air cleaners) and put it on the entrance of the flowhood.
