It's right that this popped up. I've been battling with booze for as long as I've drank it. I've done a stint in rehab, cleaned me up til I got out. I went to jail, cleaned me up till I got out. Both of those times, I was really fooling myself into thinking I didnt want to drink anymore. It feels like I almost like the pain and the shit that goes with it. The only time I've actually been able to clean up myself, cause I wanted to, was with a heavy LSD dose. I lasted 17 days that time, all on my own. (I smoke marijuana daily, also) I went to a baby shower, and my groups baby showers are pretty much small house parties. So I went to it and all the guys were hangin in the garage doin dabs and smokin weed, takin shots drinkin beers. Kinda of a music festival family, if you will. Well,I decide, whats one beer? I ended up only drinking about half that beer and leaving. But that left me with the thought that I had this shit beat. I can drink just one. HA. Im sitting here right now, on my second day not drinking, still not as powerful as I thought I was. A few days ago, I was at a b day party and took 2 shots back to back and when I did I felt myself gettin sick so I ra to the bathroom. When I threw up,  It was more blood than I ever imagined could come outta a stomach.. So Im scared, only 24, 2 OWI's and a failing body. Goddamn I gotta get over this shit

I have a friend that just died from alcoholism...he was 26..had pancreatitis two times, liver shot...docs told him not to drink or he would die. He fell over right in front of his mother after coming home from the bar. He had been drinking straight vodka since his mid teens.
Another friend that was the youngest ever in Maryland to be on a liver transplant list...He was 29 and yellow when I met him...That was 4 yrs. ago...today, he is recently married, has a great job, has color back in his skin and is off the list. 4 yrs. sober and lives the simple 12 step program.
I don't make this shit up...it is entirely up to you to take that first step.
I will also say that you should go to the hospital if you are bleeding that much....I mean the emergency room...nothing to fuck with...your digestive system can not cope with all that protein in blood especially if your liver is not working fully...it will send ammonia into your blood stream that can cause hepatic encephylepathy...not good.

No problem friend...yeah...if you google internal bleeding it will explain more. You should get checked out though...make an appointment with a gi physician...they will probably want to scope you to see what's going on in there.

Hey man, I know the feels.

I was 25 years old, had 4 dwi's, multiple rehab stints, loony bin stays, and in n out of jail for drinking related situations. I was shitting blood and throwing up stomach acid every morning. I would take a swig, throw up, take a swig, throw up, take a swig, before I could hold down my alcohol in the morning. Had it not been for my mom who I know would've killed herself if I had done the same, I would not be here today.

I'm almost 4 years away from a drink and my life gets better everyday. I'm not where I want to be, but I'm where I need to be. AA is probably the best thing to ever happen to me, although I don't always agree with everything that goes on there. I no longer wake up wanting to kill myself, and I have REAL friends today. I don't think I'm the piece of shit human being that I believed I was 4 years ago.

You don't have to live like that. When you're ready, you're ready. Everyone has their own journey, but as has been stated in this thread many times, life gets WAY better man. Keep your head up

Bloody stool is black and tar like, its the puking up blood that looks like coffee grounds isn't it?  Unless you're puking pure blood which looks like used motor oil.  Like black molasses.

Yes...you are right...Thanks for that amanita...also signs are light headed spells from low blood pressure. But black stools are a sign....any case, Rip needs to get checked out.

31 days sobor today.

My cat passed away early this morning. Probably not a sobriety threatening thing for most people, we had her for 17 years though which is basically as far back as i can remember. She had a long happy life though and wasn't sick very long. I'm not gonna let it get to me. sure will miss her though

I just reallly dont like the dr dude. Still fightin the good fight, still normal stool. I've consisted my diet of expensive yogurt, Naked juice, Tums, and a ton of water.

I really do think I'll be fine. Just gotta take better care of myself. I have an amazing girlfriend who's been waiting on me hand and foot. I really have it in my head that this is it. No more drinking. We both were talking late last night and we was talkin about how we wanna rewrite our stories.

Good for you...If you admit that you are powerless over alcohol and that your life has become unmanageable because of it...then you have done the first and only step that must be completed 100%. Coming to believe that there is a power greater than yourself is the next one...for me, I just prayed to something, a God that I wasn't sure was even there and asked to help me to stop the nonsense...to be a better person. I figured....What have I got to lose?...do it every morning as soon as you wake.

Because I've been to AA mtgs hundreds of times in several different states and if any of the people who actually finished the 12 steps that I have met over the years knew this existed they would say there is no way anyone who actively uses any intoxicating substances knows a thing about the real experiences of AA or can speak even a shred of wisdom about sobriety.

Not to say I agree with this but after being to hundreds of meetings I feel it's safe to say this thread would be highly frowned upon and unaccepted by the AA community at large.

Shane alcoholic. I'm going to have to ask that everyone post in a respectful manner. If not I will ask a mod to take action.

Sorry for my absence. I had to start over out of treatment. Still sober. Going to meetings. Struggling a little financially. I have no computer at the moment.

Congrats on everyone with their sobriety!!
