Got over some of my stressful situation wensday but have made it since then without a drink.
Just kind of going with the flow, its all about how i handle stress and what situations i put myself in.
Really want to get back in good shape and no alcohol makes the feasible.

TheFakeSunRa said: If you say using a higher power concept can and does help people get and stay sober I'm fine with that. But when it stretches into the you can't do it without a higher power I get fucking hostile. Atheism is becoming more and more accepted and common and whether people want to admit it or not AA rolls with the changes just like everything else. Non-believers have a place in AA and fuck any bullshit I have to believe this or that to stay sober.
What I'm telling you is you can BE an atheist and still work on changing your thought patterns, and in doing so change your actions and habits.
In Yoga we call it "Pratipaksha Bhavanam", or "Opposite Direction". This means, simply, actively taking your thoughts in a different direction as needed. When done consistently over time, you can completely interrupt toxic thought patterns and create new ones.
This requires no belief or faith whatsoever, just practice.
I have a question for you - would you agree that we live in a world of duality?

Duality is life.
What you're talking about does work better when you're meeting your energy or actions with another. I'm not going to split hairs but there is a difference between "quick fixes" and then doing the job right.
Its like a kitchen chemist compared to someone who has actually been trained and knows what is happening in each step.
In jail you can make your own weights, or food, but its better if you approach a proper gym or kitchen. But you can get results either way. That's all I'm saying.
But when you meet God, or "whoever", it makes your actions in life have different results.
There's athiests who never become alcoholics, so of course it can be done without faith. The devil's in the details though. It's hard to "sum up" everything. You know what I'm saying.

Sun/Moon Hot/Cold Dark/Light Man/Woman
etc.
So...if there is a SEEN reality/world, then there also must be (or at the very least might POSSIBLY be) an UNSEEN reality/world.
What do you think about that?

I saw this today and it made me think it would go well here right now.

(There's some question behind whether or not the math on that 75mg is correct in the quote, but, you know what I'm saying.)

Sounds like you have your mind made up to already know what you'll see tomorrow.

Don't forget Jesus too. Where you find one you'll often find the other.
What I was saying is, it sounds like you have it already figured out and don't get surprised often.

I don't know what you believe but if you believe Jesus was born from a virgin and then came back to life after he was killed then I'm pretty sure I'm more easily surprised than you because that shit is surprising to the point of being entirely impossible.

"Studied" might be an exaggeration but I've read some pop-science books, watched documentaries, listened to science podcasts and read about it online. I think I know a bit about most of the theoretical stuff that has permeated popular culture like wave particle duality and the uncertainty principle. I understand that physics at the subatomic level (in my limited understanding, especially the electron) behaves in a manner that defies basic human logic and understanding.
Some of the books I've read that touch on this stuff are: A Universe from Nothing, Physics of the Impossible, The Tao of Physics, The Singularity, and I think a few others. I'm not endorsing any of those books just trying give you an idea of the type of pop-science I've read that tries to explain this stuff to laypeople.
