The word “alcohol” is said to come from the arabic term “Al-khul”
which means “BODY-EATING SPIRIT” (also, is the origin of the term” ghoul”).

^This is erroneous.

True Etymology of the word "alcohol":

1540s (early 15c. as alcofol), "fine powder produced by sublimation," from Medieval Latin alcohol "powdered ore of antimony," from Arabic al-kuhul "kohl," the fine metallic powder used to darken the eyelids, from kahala "to stain, paint." The al- is the Arabic definite article, "the."

Paracelsus (1493-1541) used the word to refer to a fine powder but also a volatile liquid. By 1670s it was being used in English for "any sublimated substance, the pure spirit of anything," including liquids. Sense of "intoxicating ingredient in strong liquor" is first recorded 1753, short for alcohol of wine, which was extended to "the intoxicating element in fermented liquors." In organic chemistry, the word was extended 1850 to the class of compounds of the same type as this.

37 days sober for me today!
Longest I've made it by far in years.

I'd like to recommend another forum specific to controlling/giving up drinking also I've found and think is great, no disrespect to this thread. https://www.reddit.com/r/stopdrinking/

The 24 hr. a day book is not AA approved literature. It was written by a woman with highly Christian beliefs.

If you want a daily read...read the Daily Reflections.More spiritual and less religious.

The word “alcohol” is said to come from the arabic term “Al-khul”
which means “BODY-EATING SPIRIT” (also, is the origin of the term” ghoul”).

In alchemy, alcohol is used to extract the soul essence of an entity. Hence its’ use in extracting essences for essential oils, and the sterilization of medical instruments. By consuming alcohol into the body, it in effect extracts the very essence of the soul, allowing the body to be more susceptible to neighboring entities most of which are of low frequencies (why do you think we call certain alcoholic beverages “SPIRITS?”). That is why people who consume excessive amounts of alcohol often black out, not remembering what happened. This happens when the good soul (we were sent here with) leaves because the living conditions are too polluted and too traumatic to tolerate. The good soul jettisons the body, staying connected on a tether, and a dark entity takes the body for a joy ride around the block, often in a hedonistic and self-serving illogical rampage. Our bodies are cars for spirits. If one leaves, another can take the car for a ride.

“Essentially when someone goes dark after drinking alcohol or polluting themselves in many other ways, their body often becomes possessed by another entity.”
– Stefan JacobsA great look at the truth of alcohol!
We must ask – what dark agenda has been being played out by allowing alcohol to be legal and heavily promoted in our modern culture.

As an empath and spiritual intuitive I have an extremely difficult time being where there is a lot of alcohol served or where many people are drinking.
I can see and feel the many “dark” spirits that gather, waiting to prey on the inebriated souls.

Most of my experiences with alcohol led me into experiences I later regretted.

In 2007 I was taken into a vision and shown just what this post is explaining. A few years later I came across writing from Parahamansa Yogananda where he also explained this phenomenon.

As we strive to heal, awaken, and transform our world – I pray that we wise up to the dirty trick played upon humanity in regards to alcohol. Non-benevolent forces have wanted to keep us oppressed, disempowered, and asleep.

It is ironic that psychedelics are illegal in much of the world (mind expansion and spiritual connection) … yet alcohol (spirit extraction) is legal!

How many of us have seen families broken and lives lost because of alcohol and alcoholism?
Do you think it makes us smarter or healthier or overall better people?

It’s time to change things. Let’s stand behind shunning alcohol and learn how to live awakened and empowered lives!

I'm not sure what all this stuff means...but alcohol is not the enemy to many millions of people who can drink successfully. As a matter of fact, science has shown that light drinkers may actually outlive non-drinkers because of some of the benefits of LIGHT drinking.

Problem is, we alcoholics have lost this ability to drink one or two and then stop...long ago. Like enjoywho said...for any alcoholic....It's not the caboose that kills you. We have lost the convenience of "choice" once we take that first drink. For me, all bets are off and I cannot predict where  I will wind up or who I will wind up with....I have proven this with empirical research over and over.

I can't hold alcohol in contempt for my disease...for many people it affords them pleasure...eases their nerves and helps in conversation. It is not my enemy because it already beat me.

For sure. I want to be normal. It's so glorified in society and by people that to achieve any sort of Sobriety I cut myself off from my peers. And worked from the time I woke up til the time I went to sleep.

Aa was my only form of social life and I'm a social person but I'm only human. That's when I finally snap. I want to be involved in the reindeer games too maybe just one beer. Than I land myself in withdrawal hell.

It's depression from not being social or too social that I end up isolating myself anyway. I never had anxiety before I started drinking. Sure all the normal stuff. Asking a pretty girl on a date, job interview, etc.

Now I'm just pessimistic. What's the point of anything? Why bother. I can't believe this is the legal drug. I'd much rather be back on dope.

Changing my habits is not as simple as your rudeness implies. That's another reason I hated aa I was the youngest person. Bunch of old people that I could sort of connect with but not.

I got given some work as a land surveyor and he has insane anger issues. Berated me at every turn. Good lord dude ya your sober now but Its no wonder your daughters haven't  spoken to you in 10 years.

I got so fed up with his shit that I quit a fairly decent job that I enjoyed. He hasn't even sent me my tax shit so I can finish my taxes. And I want nothing to do with him.

I'm the best worker money can buy. But do not talk down to me like some fucking asshole. I'm not afraid to tell you to go fuck yourself after a time. As I'm an incredibly apologetic and proper person. I like to learn and I learn fast.

You aren't wrong I'm guessing your one of the old dudes who are pretty wealthy and have been sober for 20-30 years. Sobriety is a relatively new thing to me.

I've quit all my drug use. Alcohol is the last thing I have to cut. But it's proving to be the hardest. Than my goal is to be a Drug counselor. For whatever reason I have an affinity for addicts. Well I am one.

I see that you've been hanging around AA before, but have you ever tried working the steps with a sponsor? In all honesty, that is where the "peace of mind" happens. Have you ever asked God to help you to not drink?

I've lost count of the days its been since I last drank. Somewhere around 10 days I think. That's the longest I've gone in maybe years.

I woke up this morning and within 20mins I had the familiar feeling of "Yeah I'm getting fucked up today." Usually that thought/feeling is like an imminent sentence..its happening.

I did not give in though. A couple of times in the last week ive had these feelings. It's funny but I almost feel guilty for having these thoughts, like I've done something wrong.

Ive quit various substances before but alcohol is one that I'll go a week or so without and then my brain tries to trick me into having amnesia. Why not just grab a half pint today and unwind..only for today. I've done so well, my problems are over.

I can feel my resolve growing everyday. I know I'm in a fragile state right now where one highly stressful event could occur and cause me to drink.
