Bill W took LSD and wanted to incorporate it into the program.
He was sober for 20 years but depressed, and LSD helped him.
Also when he died he was begging for a shot of whiskey and they withheld it.

What what do you mean? He was one of the founders in the 30s he wasn't exposed to LSD until the 50s.

Either way it ain’t the cure man. Big man upstairs doesn't discriminate. Mushrooms got me to treatment but they didn’t do any of the actual work for me, that’s the faith part.

Depends on the situation I guess.
Problem I have with AA is all the god talk.

Do you have a higher power? That’s all god is, it’s how Aa works, it wouldn’t without a surrender to a higher power(god)

I have been sober for a couple years now but one thing ive noticed is it seems way harder to find women now.
I guess where id like to find a women would be at my church but like there isnt really any under the age of 60 there lol.
Like I know I need to be paitent or what ever but this kind of sucks.
I know the women at the bar arnt necessarily who you want to start dating most of the time but at least they were my age and like south of 60 years old lol
Shits annoying. I havnt started looking actively since I began going to AA. I am 30 I tried using bumble or tinder but those apps dont seem real or reflect reality. I guess im just venting. Ill find her eventually I just want to find her.

Sure but, that can and a lot of times does involve psychedelics.
Our ideas of religion were influenced by psychoactives in the first place.

Maybe, it did for me, but if we don’t have a higher power other than ourselves Aa won’t work, put religion aside. Not saying you can’t stay sober without a higher power but how can you possibly work the program? You can’t. That’s what the first three steps are. Not everyone needs psychedelics to get there though is all I’m saying. Some people are better at the faith part, maybe they don’t need psychedelics to get there. To each their own but all that matters is that they got there.

To those contending with god, this is literally all that is meant by that.
Yeah I'm almost 30 and going to have a year clean here soon, the prospect of dating in this new frame is pretty intimidating.

some people make it work without a higher power and others turn it over to whatever the fuck god is supposed to be and keep right on drinking themselves to death
there's no one size fits all universal truth for utilizing aa effectively

My experience with "god" was very personal, if I tried to explain it people would probably use the word "schizophrenia" and itmay not be far off because it went away when I started taking my anti psychotics again, but it was crazy how it was pushing myself to better myself, making every single fuckup of mine ten times more obvious, that I was always in the wrong column
