Sound Systems........yours
    #2255660 - 01/20/04 11:52 AM (12 years, 10 months ago)

What kind of system do you guys use?

Mission Cyrus 6 cd player
Mission Cyrus 3 amp
Mission Cyrus PSX power supply
Acoustic Energy Speakers.
Cable talk speaker cable
Target Rack.
I was brought up on the minimalist outlook, all the bass
and treble controls, headphone sockets are not needed, all
the do is detract power from the source, so the powers goes
straight into the amp then straight to the CD player giving
a much clearer sound.

This is the amp my sister bought and let me tell you
it makes the cd player perform to its best.

my hifi isn't anything to write home about, my pc system is logitech z560's with an audigy 2. The speakers are highly underated and are immensely good value for money.

My family has an old AudioResearch double-box tube amp that takes a good 30 seconds to a minute to warm up before it'll play sound.  It's a good sound though, paired with two large home-theatre tall boys from the mid to late 1980's.  The speakers, though they have plenty of power, leave something to be desired in terms of sq.

Here's a shot of the AudioResearch old-school amplifier set:

On my computer I'm running an Altec Lansing MDA-890 5.1 dolby digital/THX certified surround sound setup off of my SoundBlaster Live! card.  While it can't out perform many comparable brands (e.g. Klipsh) db-wise, it's acoustics are absolutely phenomenal :rocket:

Back home in my old room I have a 150watt Sony Amp sitting on top of an RCA 6-disc CD changer, hooked up with Altec Lansing bookshelf front left/right channel speakers and KLH rear left/right channel + center channel speakers.  It's OK, the speakers leave much to be desired but since I don't live there anymore it doesn't bother me as much

Also up here with my Altec Lansing computer home-theater setup I have a pair of Sony MDR-V600 studio headphones which have nice (possibly synthetic) leather padding on the ears and head strap, with a crisp thunderous sound.

I also just purchased a pair of matched Alesis M1 Active powered studio monitors with a 75watt high/25 watt low independent amplifier for each channel and a 1500Hz crossover.  Extremely linear frequency response from 38 Hz - 23.5 kHz and a max rating of 110db I believe.  Can't wait for them to arive so I can start to really experience the music I play on my Yamaha s90 keyboard/synth :rocket:

I  good sound just as I  music, but when you get good sounding music... :heartpump:
