The other day I was laughing at people calling fucking Carmel northern Cali.
And FYI, you totally misapprehended what he was trying to say.

I don't want to join the non-mushroom related aspects of this conversation, but none of the beds I have found in England are irrigated. In some areas there are quite a few wood chip beds, and some of them spawn cyans, but I've never seen one of these roadside beds that receive their water from anything other than rain.

Yep you're a fucking dip ****. Don't really have to say that since you are 300 post in and already puss people off in this forum. You use your grammar and punctuation as a way to make you seem intelligent.

Is England several years into the worst drought in England's history? Because that's what the situation is here in the Bay Area. Here, grass that's exposed to the sun can't even remain alive without artificial irrigation.

For the record, it's not, no. My apologies for not reading the whole message chain thoroughly.

Yeah, the drought here is no laughing matter. People are seeing consequences they've never seen before. My friend woke up one morning and her doberman-mix had undergone some kind of transformation...we're almost certain it's drought related.

Given that it's a mix, it's hard for me to ascertain the extent of the transformation from the photograph.

No, I got exactly what he was trying to say. Thank you though.
It's a beautiful morning and the pins are popping here in the central valley folks!

I'm hoping to go out with my father in law to look for cyanesens today. It has been great weather this fall so far.

Would condensation from dew be enough moisture to get mushrooms to grow, not optimally I know. Some mornings the ground is soggy even if it hasn't rained in awhile, specially in dense grass.

I haven't thoroughly scoped out the patches I know of out here, just rode by them and glanced around, so I don't know if they're pinning yet.
This time of the month last year is when I first found all my active patches, all of which were fruiting in full glory....but they were all receiving irrigation much more so last year than this time around.
I managed to find one tiny new patch a week ago that was looking rather dried out from the winds, only a handful of fruits....and I have a clump of colonized woodchips about the size of a small dinner plate sitting in my back yard, it's from a few of the chunks of mycelial mat that I accidentally pulled up when harvesting one of my patches last year...over the past week or so, that thing has developed quite a few primordia and pins .
