95% colonized rye, should I case?
    #2252318 - 01/19/04 09:12 AM (20 years, 2 months ago)

I've three rye jars. They are mostly colonized with just a small amount of grain on the bottom uncolonized. I'm have a glove box to work in (still air, lots of alcohol). I'm casing into small 12"x6"x6" containers an d then covering with cling wrap.

I have a deadline I'd like to meet and want to case them today. Are my chances good or will that definently invite contamination?

I have done it just put the uncolinized section on the bottom and be very very very sterile. I would wait but if your determaned to do it today go for it just be clean best of luck

If you do wait just shake a little bit to get the uncolonized mixed in well, 1-2 more days and its 100%

thanks for the advice everyone. I know I should wait, But I've a cetain time I want to have em done so I can trip then with a few friends on a special occasion. Since most of the uncolonized part is in the bottom, i think i might just use more jars and just leave the bottoms to waste. Tsk tsk, I should've started them earlier...
