Thanks man. Happy I caught it early. A premature harvest but you did have an eye for that big stone, I will take your advice. Hereβs the harvest pics, the white, cracker-like growth, is that just hardened mycelium/premature sclerotia?

I'd say yeah for sure there's a (good) chance.
It's really hard to see anything (as you eluded to). But I mean it looks white and like mycelium with coir so that's a positive

Thanks Throwaway, the pictures are really bad. The bag is 1.5 years old and was contaminated from the start. It was left in the bottom of a box this entire time. Unfortunately for me, this may be my only chance at reviving the culture.
Surgery on it tonight, fingers crossed!

Anyone have experience with Jalisco on agar? This is a germ plate, wondering if I transferred mold or myc. Doesn't really look like cube myc to me which is all I have experience with.

Mex myc can look really cloudy and fluffy. The main giveaway if you're new (to stone producers) I'd say is that it's still around the same grow speed as cubes? White molds will (often) take over a 100mm plate in like 10 days.

Can someone please point me to a recent tek for fully colonized p Mexicana grain to bulk? Iβve read a lot of old threads that range from straw to straight coir and poo; whatβs the modern way yβall have good results for growing p mexicana for fruits?
Plenty of experience with cubes but the Mexicana was in a special grab bag from the vendor and idk what to do with it π
if going for fruits, should I treat it like a cube and just bulk it to 50:50+?

From a shoebox. Could of spawned it and brought to tent but laziness won again.
Need to work a few more mexi prints. I'm really struggling to grow this year though.

I have some ATL 7 pinning and was wondering what a good strategy for cloning fruit is with how small and fragile they are.
Should I try dropping pins straight onto 1% or water agar? Which would be best?
Or should I fuck around with trying to get inner tissue? Or wait for a stone to both break the surface and fruit, and hope those fruiting genetics are in the stone?

I found that there was a little dense piece of tissue under the cap when removed. This is what used. But any of the methods above would probably work.

Thanks for that advice. I've cloned from this spot with other species so I know what you're referring too.
I'll let them mature some and give it a shot!

A surprising result from potency tests.
Confirms another member's findings that Tamps do not seem to be more potent than cubes. The lighting is not great for the photo, but I would call it 0.4 to 0.5% at best. From this flush:

Here is a pe result for comparison.

And a subtropicalis as well.

Are they still worth fruiting aside from the novelty then? I like the sclerotia a lot anyway.
Debating if I'll bother cloning as my pan cultures seem to be colonizing.

If you like sclerotia you gonna love the fruits. Definitely worth it in my opinion.
My Tamps had a body centred effect, not super potent but a very warm, clear headed and pleasant experience for sure.
I thought mine were about similar to Nats in potency but I like the effect better.

I think they have a lot of variance in potency. Overall my tamps seemed comparable to cubes but I also had some that were way above or below average.
The trip is also a little different which is the draw for me.

Both of them.
I like the fruits. The trip has a quality that I equate with gratitude. I'm not going to get all metaphysical on you, but with these more than cubes and subtrops I get a feeling that things are better than we often take the time to observe.
I could be crazy, but the stones seem to have more of the cube dark-clown vibe. I just got my first pans pins, so will have to get back to you on that.
Only had one nats grow and sample. Loved the grow, did not love the sample. But I have some new genetics now, so once more into the breach!
In addition, the potency of my tamps does seem to vary pretty widely ime. My early grows seemed a lot stronger than any of the ones I have done lately. I can't tell you why. I only started getting these home test kits recently, so I don't have good quantifiable data about my early successes with these.

Thanks for the responses.
I've only done the sclerotia twice recently but a few times before and a lot of cubes and other psychedelics. I found my recent sclerotia experiences to be clear headed enough to meditate on, which took me out past the dark clown territory. There was a lot of that energy on the come up though. Luckily I was listening to a dharma talk on looking deeply and when I started looking into the dark clowns, which were the five hindrances in my understanding, I saw how they're made up of everything else and they started to come apart like spaghetti.
Cubes I can get confused more easily it seems, which makes it harder to remember how to calm myself.
So alright, I'll look at the fruits in their own right. It sounds like they might be a lot more grounding than cubes which I would appreciate too.

My Tamps are strong AF. 150mg can give you a mild experience if you close your eyes and focus. If yours are near Cube potency, I suggest you throw them and don't look back.
Also, this clone is crazy
