Thank your for the advice on the ATL 7 mycellium. As I understand it Alan Rockefeller cleared up the ATL 7 debate, and it's actually P.Tampanensis.
Alan Rockefeller- Genetic sequencing ATL 7
If it isn't Natalensis mycellium then a very reliable vendor gave me a mislabeled syringe. Rhymes with "more kirks"... What makes you think it's not?
I'll be happy with whatever grows out. I have six species going so adding a mystery plate is kinda fun.

I think it looks ok, it’s definitely super rhizo already.
Atl7 plate looks good so far for sure.

Thanks for the double confirmation on the ATL 7 plate. The lack of solid white growth in the center of each colony really had me concerned, but it sounds like is normal for this species to show "rings" of growth(thanks PsiloPsychIn)
And yeah, the Natalensis plate is super fast. The rizomorphic growth you see is actually ariel mycellium and there's another rizomorphic layer growing against the agar underneath. It wants to expand so bad.

I don't think that's stones. Looks very similar to Oyster myc.

How important is coffee in BRF cakes for stones? I have some premade jars from stupid buying a growkit, and want to use some to start some stones with ATL#7

You don’t need coffee for stones.
I don’t know if BRF is how I would make stones. I don’t like eating vermiculite.

Apologies if this is well covered in this thread, a quick search didn’t give me anything concrete -
I have some Tamp spawn almost ready. I’m going to be trying for fruits - is a 2:1 sub to spawn ratio the accepted protocol?
Also any opinions about substrate welcomed. I was planning to use just coir only.

I have had tamp fruiting success with coir only and close to that ratio.
I suggest looking into casings if you have not already. I think I used 1:1 or 3:2 jiffy starter seed mix to playground sand. Pasteurized. Applied at full colonization.

Thank you. I was going to try doing a pasteurized peat/lime casing.
I had great results with a pretty thick 50/50 coir verm casing for subtropicalis. Has anyone tried this for tamps?

I ran ATL#7 with the 2 parts sub 1 part spawn. I also used a pasturized jiffy mix and lime casing @ 1/4 inch thickness. I'm still pulling fruits a couple weeks later. I think I'm on my 4th flush. The returns are diminishing in the latter flushes but I want to see how far they will go. I've pulled over 250g wet in shrooms plus 85g of stones with 1qt of spawn. I don't know if that's good but I'm happy with it.

Thanks Bigworm. That sounds like a good yield to me. I got about 23g dried of Subtropicalis over 3 flushes from a quart but it’s taken quite some time.

Tamps, broccoli and drosera in a 1gal jar at 3 weeks. Inspired by PsiloPsychIn's lil jar a while back.

Actually I've been thinking about this more as I am waiting for my ATL#7 to come in. Will the stones encase the verm, so the verm actually ends up in the sclerotia itself?
