Hell yeah nice caps mush!! I love tamps. Straight coir is the way to go, that way no shit covered truffles
Sandy casing is SO helpful with these. Like night and day
Howd you fruit em? They look happy af wholesome

It's pretty much the same composition as yours-- peat base, a bit of soil, and sand, with a lime buffer for higher PH. I added a tablespoon of garden lime per quart when I was mixing it up-- and probably 30-40% coarse sand. It will be used with my Tamps as substrate.
I made a separate quart with a full 50% coarse sand that will be used as the casing.
You are using sand in the substrate? Das gone make for some gritty truffles. Call em enamamel removers

Thanks for the info, that mycolorado thread is next on my list actually
This is the stuff I was thinking of getting, it’s cheap and I don’t need a lot...apparently it’s 47% peat

hehe, nah, this one will be for fruiting only-- I've decided to let that Galindoi stay in the jar because it's already forming stones-- I just can't resist letting it go and see how well they do.
So the Atl#7's I'm going to spawn when they're 100% to fruit them If I get any stones out of those, I'll do an liquid extraction on the flesh, so the rock won't matter

Apparently that seramis that is added into that cactus mix is ph 5 - 6 will that cause too much of a change?

Just test it and balance it
Or assume 1tsp lime per cup of peat , thatll get you close. Idk if the seramis should require more or not

That's pretty acidic-- just make sure you get a soil PH test kit and use lime (or calcium carbonate) to get the PH back up above 7.

I'm so freaking impressed with the strength of this Gal-- I am going to get it into more quarts. Do you all think it would be OK to just take a small bit of mycelium (or a couple grains) from my colonized Galindoi quart to nock up another one I have?
I've never done G2G before, and I can't imagine it would be a problem, but I thought I'd ask the group before I do it tomorrow. I just don't want to have to go to agar when I already have such a strong culture in that quart...

My jars are being taken over by stones before I had the chance to even spwan them since I didn't have all the supplies needed. I'm hoping when I do spawn the stones keep growing. And my god I about freaked out thinking all mar jars got contaminated when I noticed all the mycelium turned yellow

Edmunter said: So this will be interesting and I will expand to grains only, in the dark and in a jar at some point. As you can see ive made the bags so that the sub is 2" thick as i have allays had good results with this. 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 spawn to coir.
First update
The 1:1 is forming a mega stone structure and looks very healthy
The 1:2 is similar with a proper stone forming already
The 1:3 has fully colonised and stones are forming.
It will be interesting to see which bag gives the most stones. I should imagine 1:3 due to water content

Is there any trick to taking spore prints of those little guys? I started with a print, but I don't remember it being this small. These caps are tiny!

Spoke with captain about New “L” and it is Huautla de Jimenez. He was the first to grow it. It is a different strain than chicon nindo and strain A & B. I have these next on my list of grows coming up. Here’s the link to captains grow https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/16262797

Finally got to my jars and spawned to coir but I missed calculated my ratio and ended up around 3 1/2" deep so hopefully this don't fuck up the fruiting process. My other jars that was inoculated from water sucked out of one jar is coming along nicely and so is my LC that was made. All of this will be going to coir bags and put into a shed just for stones and possibly fruited.
Now my only problem is jars, everyone is out of stock except eBay for double price. My only other option and probably best solution is of course spawn bags. The problem is I only got 2 16qt PC's and I have no clue what size spawn bags will best fit a 16qt.
Looking for some recommendations.

Edmunter, I like the looks of those bags and I bet the come along nicely. Once I find out a solution to my issue from my last post I'll be ready to rock out the bags

Nocked 2 additional quarts this afternoon with a small tweezer from the master jar.
Even though they were small bits of mycelium, the way this damned line seems to grow I anticipate they'll be colonized in 2 weeks or so

You used tweezers? That might be an issue haha.. hopefully not though
Here is a video of someone doing a normal g2g. You want to free pour some grain from one jar into another
