I believe Stonesun gave a time range ending around 9 months. Might be quite dried out by then, but likely potent as hell.
Use your sniffer, as colour is quite variable. Then taste

Well, I got my answer. I had a couple pint jars that were getting too much air, they looked way worse than the quarts. And the sclerotia on them were soft and squishy and looked bad, not firm like the ones I've started pulling from quarts.
First quart of 5 that all look good, dated October 19th. Not as good a yield as others have seen, but I'll take it, and plus they're 7 months old.

If there is mold growing inside the jar/on the stones
the amsterdam smart shops that sell the truffles sell them at 3months, 6months, and 9months.
there's plenty of people who have left their jars for a year. or at least some.

Nah, i think they're good, just harvest them, if they're black from the inside then they've gone bad..
But i don't think yours have gone bad, matter of fact, they might still be alive, so you can spawn into a bulk sub.

I might actually try that with one of the jars. They're in brown rice, just mix both the rice and the stones into CVG and stones will keep growing out?

Not sure if the stones will keep growing, because i tend to harvest the stones, i just put the spawn into the bulk substrate.
And even more stones form any ways lol, along side fruiting bodies.

They will keep growing inside a bulk substrate during consolidation / fruiting

I went back to the squishy ones from the pint jars, and they were a pretty gross grey/black color through.
My current working theory is that the jar dried out too fast because the lids had too many poly filter holes (I've been playing with one, two, and four for grain colonization, those had 4), and the sclerotia died and went bad instead of just drying out.
Fruiting galindoi is the same process as fruiting cubes though, yes? Spawn to cvg, colonize, case, put into fruiting conditions?

I'm going to leave the stones in though, last time I tried fruiting after a 3 month harvest, they myc was too weak to keep mold away before even the first flush. Hoping the stones give it a little extra strength to make it to fruiting this time, cause I'd really like to get some prints for future use and storage.

Stones should help. They do have a tendency to encompass their surroundings though. I'd skip the verm.

I thought they pushed stuff away while they were growing rather than absorb? Too late I already used verm.
Don't the sparkles just convince people they're real psychedelics though? Haha

Btw, throwing my 2 cents here. You can store stones fresh in plastic bags in a dark and cool area. I've had stones stored like this for months and remain just as good and potent. They'll actually form loose mycelium connecting each other together.
I've usually read that it doesn't work or it isn't suggested, but after doing it with a couple batches, it works fine if not better than storing in a fridge in a paper bag. I've always had my stones dry out a bunch in the fridge, so it can be a bit more difficult to dose correctly.(took 18 grams one day, and it felt more like 25-30, like I couldn't physically move because it was so intense )

They push the sub away, and crack it typically. If you use a brush, most of the sub can be removed. Found embedded nyjer seed in my Tamps but it is mostly surface.
Since they live in there for so long, I'm leaning towards pure grain and the larger kernel the better. Will see how my rye / whole oats pan out! Varied quite a few spawn types

Hey guys, just wondering, do you start counting down the months from the day of inoculation/mycelium growth or from around the time that stones start to develop/full colonization? I'm still early in the game but I'm curious.

Is there any specific reason for the ages of the truffles? Does age affect potency in any way?

Allegedly, I've no experience personally.
