Only my second try at stones ATl#7
I did stones a couple years ago but they made me really sick when I ate them so I ended up giving away everything I made this time I decided I wanted fruit them and wow there are a hell of a lot better than stones
I broke up the whole bag of stones and all and just put in a mixture of 80% coir 20% vermiculite

I plan on just tilling some topsoil in the garden and mixing in grain. Will sclerotia be able to form in plain dirt?
Is planting sclerotia absolutely essential for getting fruit? I’ve heard mex varieties spread like crazy outdoors but I’d like to keep my sclerotia from the first harvest.
I know stones keep the myc alive during freezing so if I have to leave some outside I will cause it gets down to 10 degrees in the winter here
Mixing some topsoil in the garden and putting grain in with it is basically the same process as making a mono tub
As far as leaving the stones in with it it makes no difference how the initial mushrooms grow I have done both ....as the mushroom grows it’ll produce stones but if it’s going to be a short growing season definitely leave stones in with it
I myself cannot stand the stones so I normally leave them with the tub or give to friends

Not how id prefer to do it, but figured id spawn it rather than throwing away the spawn. it worked great. 100g truffles then 30g dry fruits off 1qt
It’s insane that people throw away the Leftover it’s so easy to get fruits from it and there twice as potent as cubes it’s like throwing away all the 20s because you don’t have change for the slot machine

Think I’m gonna try that stone li with the outside stones if I can find any.
Some of the bags I have with huge stones in actually the top layer is contaminated from sitting so long you can actually see green and black on top of the wheat
I have just cut off the top of the bag and plant the leftover wheat in core and it never gets contaminated

This is one of the bags that was eight months old if you noticed the stone was pushing out of the bag turned out to be a monster stone here’s a photo of it

And here is the stones versus wheat

Lol I’ve been telling your tale a lot the last few days 99. I just remember that pic of them in the grass from like a month ago.
Yeah the slugs in the lawnmowers really love to get rid of them so it’s kind of hard to find them In the middle of summer but this is a photo from them originally growing in the planter

Your bags will dry out underneath the filter and they will contaminate right underneath the filter when I do my bags and leave them for a very long time.... seven months or so I fold the bag completely over so it is resting on top of the filter The only reason I can see a need for the filter on the bag is during the pressure cookIng

ALT#7 are the easiest mushroom I’ve ever grown not only do the produce over 200 g of stones per cup of wheat but the fruits or extremely thick never contaminate and I normally get seven flushes out of each one averaging about 24 g dry per flush

Is that clone or ms?? I’ve just started getting good results with tamps now I need to work on pinset.
So for a cup of spawn you’re getting 200g of stones and like 4oz dry fruit?? Or is the fruit separate cuz that’s a ridiculous yield.
I just pulled jars from the pc gonna run some atl now I’m inspired.
A document to grow I did https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/26800560/fpart/all
It’s Multispore 1 cup wheat 1 cup vermiculite 1 Cup water After stones Are harvested I take the leftover wheat And Spawn 80/20 coir Vermiculite In a lasagna baking pan about 2 inches deep

Awesome! What is the easiest way to harvest them?
What is the potency like? I have 5g dry I harvested from my plant pot, I'm going to try some of it this weekend with 2-3g Syrian rue.
Only had p. semilanceata before.
/Y
Easiest way to harvest these is with a pair of scissors cut everything down as low as you can to the base and do clump clump
I think potency is probably twice as much as normal cubes
