Pulling up a chair. What we have here is ATL7 in 3 half gallons of oats. The culture comes from a stone I found on a plate after several weeks in the fridge. I transferred a piece of the stone to a new plate, inoculated a pint of millet with a wedge, expanded the pint to 3 more pints, and used each pint on a half gallon. I think I'll spawn the jar on the right and let the other 2 grow stones until the end of January.

So I'm going to spawn the one jar that isn't producing much in the morning. Cron, do you think I can get away with straw/coir cased with untreated coir for this galindoi jar or should I get some hpoo and some jiffy?

Alright. I'm about to pasteurize a half gallon of straw/coir low and slow. Gonna do a mini mono, and I'm gonna spawn it in front of the hood with gloves on.  I've been talking to azur a bit about running lower pasteurization temps. I think it will greatly reduce the chances of trich, but we'll see. All summer I was getting trich on pretty much every tub after the first flush and I know my spawn was clean. Hopefully a 2 hour 135-145f pasteurization will make the substrate a little less appealing to trich.

Looking good grey! I just spawned my ATL7 mini mono. Pasteurized the straw/coir at 145 for 2 hours. The stone production in that jar was seriously lacking, so hopefully it will fruit well. If this thing fruits nicely I'll do a print giveaway.

Nice. Last time I tried fruiting ATL7 nothing happened but I think the culture was pretty weak. This new culture is from an invitro stone that grew on a refrigerated plate. It seems to be really healthy. I've heard that the trip from galindoi fruits is incredible.

Sorta similar to when muda's cube bottle got contaminated and produced blue bruising oysters

Well my mini mono is already recovering nicely, so at least I know I'm using a good healthy culture. Fingers crossed. Cron what do you think? Case with untreated coir or pasteurized jiffy?

No but I saw a pic and it was legit. If I hadn't personally seen the pic I wouldn't have repeated that. So sad muda deleted all his shit

Anyway the ATL7 mini mono is looking really good. Grains are recovering and I expect to see leap off in the morning.

Hey man AFAIK you don't need 90 posts to do giveaways, you just need 90 posts and 3 months on the site for marketplace access. Mods can feel free to correct me on this, but it's my understanding that you can post your grow and say "PM me for a print" even though you don't have marketplace access. The marketplace is better for if you're looking for something or want to do a massive giveaway/contest with max exposure. If my mini mono fruits I'm just keeping my print offer open to people that read this thread or that I talk to in the journals.

Looking awesome dude! I live in a really dry climate. I open air fruit oysters a lot but I haven't tried it with anything else. I was planning to case with untreated coir because of how it resists getting eaten. I think I'll let this tub colonize for another week before I case to see if I can get more stones out of it.

I'm going to be interested to see how it fruits. The culture is from a stone I found on a dish that had been in the fridge for a while. I made 3 half gallon jars and this tub is from the jar with the fewest stones in it. The other 2 jars are going nuts. I think I'll harvest the stone jars at the end of January.

I have my stone jars in my bedroom closet. I keep the doors open so they get very little light, but considering the stones grow underground, I think they'll do fine in the dark

Anyway, mini mono is fully colonized. I just gave it a light misting, and I'm going to give it another week to consolidate and beef up the stones before casing.

Well I'm getting a little impatient. My ATL7 mini mono has been fully colonized for 2 days. I'm casing my APE tubs tomorrow so I'll go ahead and case the galindoi tomorrow as well.

Also starting a new project in a bit. I found an old pint of tampanensis on millet that I had forgotten about. I put some grains on agar and they're recovering fine, so I'm going to dump the rest of the jar into a 4 quart spawn bag and forget about it for a few months.

What's up everyone! I'm back, and about to harvest a 3 month old tampanensis bag. Pulled over a pound fresh of galindoi stones out of a 66qt monotub during my hiatus, but I didn't take pics. I'll post pics of the tampanesis though.

Not bad from a bag of grain. IME you get many more stones if you spawn to bulk though.

Nice! that's from a bag?

I once got 201 grams from one jar lol, i guess it's just genetics.

Yeah it's MS from a 4qt bag of oats. I think there were some contams too though. It looked kind of bacterial so I'm not consuming these raw. I've also got about a QP of dry galindoi stones and I'm about to try making all my stones into a batch of goo. The 91% iso and the ~2 hours in the crock pot should get rid of any nasties and just leave plenty of lovely actives.

Also, for fun I dumped a bunch of colonized tampanensis millet from the same original MS plate on a new dish and several months later this big ass stone started growing on the plate. I'm transferring that invitro stone later tonight.
