Hard Mycelium Growth
    #2252546 - 01/19/04 01:08 PM (13 years, 6 months ago)

What does it mean if your Mycelium growth is not fuzzy but a little hard? Kinda like it was packed down? I know it is not a contam becase all of it is the same way, and the color is perfect and there is no smell of contams. I took out one cake because of contams the other day and the Mycelium was not fuzzy but looked like it had been pressed down, and upon inspection of the other cakes, they look the same way, but I am 99.9% sure there are no contams in the other cakes, and they have looked that way for a while. I am using the PF TEK w/ BRF.
(When I say "I" what I mean is someone else)

means the mycelium is getting old, when you fruit them your going to have to get something like a sterile fork and make scratch marks on it for the fuzzy junk to come through
