Amazing growth

Hi all,
this is really more of a follow up comment to the post i posted yesterday than a question.Yesterday morning i posted that my jars had been innoculated almost 10 days earlier with absolutly no sign of growth.Then yesterday afternoon i noticed a tiny spot in 1 jar about the size of a nail head.Now this morning when i woke up i checked and that jar is probably 20% colonized,white mycelluim is showing through an entire side! and the other ones are showing similar(although not as much)growth.its amazing the differance a day can make once they start colonizing.Im so excited,thanx everyone that had nice encouraging comments yesterday,i appreciate them.

I know i cant wait!I was under the impression that the myceluim would begin to show along the sides of the jar/Substrate first,although it looks to me like it started in the middle of the jar and is workingits way through to the outside.Maybe this is because of the fact that i screwed up and only used 1 innoculation point in the middle of the jar.I thought it would mean less chance for contams to enter,but it probably slowed things down considerably,huh?I did use 4 ccs each jar,just added it all to the middle of cake.

4cc's per jar -- as suming its a half pint -- is rather excessive, and once again assuming you hvae the correct moisture content.

someone has used that much before -- but only in a situation where the jars were on the dry side.

less innoc may get you colonizing faster. also try one in the middle and 4 or more all along the sides.

someone likes to insert needle on an angle to left or right, squirt a lil, then rotate the needle the other way left or right and squirt again -- this will leave 8 innoc points from 4 holes all the way around the jar.. colonization will be seen throughout the entire jar when it happens.

I didnt realize at the time the differance 4 hioles instead, of 1 would make,like i said i was trying to cut down contams.
also though even though i used 4 ccs(yes its a 1/2 pints)i knew i was gonna use that much,so i used an empty syringe and took away 3 ccs of water before mixing the substrate together,so actually there is only 1 cc of extra moisture in the jars.Next time i will use 4 holes i just was afraid of contams really bad.
