Small pins and split cap

These pins have been growing for about 2 weeks and wont get any bigger. Unfortunately, the humidity has been fluctuating between 90-100% and the temp has been under 70 degrees. Between 66-70 degrees farenheit. Been misting about 3 times a day. Feel like they should be misted and fanned more. It looks like the tiny veils are broken and one of the caps is split. Can anyone help?!

When this happened to me it was because of too much FAE that space around your cake looks like you are using a way bigger tub then needed. My advice is to downsize the tub, re hydrate the perlite. Also whats your temp at?

OP, you should trim down that foil a bit. I always place my cakes on a jar lid. Works great!

The tempurature has been between 66-70°F. They are B+. Will be putting them in poor man's terrarium tonight.

Don't do that... Shoot a picture of your sgfc so we can see it.

That happened to some of my cakes last time I did PF tek. I removed them and redunked and had a normal 3rd flush. This happened on cakes in a SGFC with 15 cakes most of which were fruiting beautifully so I couldn't really guess why it happened....I did not change conditions or my routine after redunking

Is your SGFC built to spec? Did the perlite get a good soak before being loaded into the chamber?

How long of a soak is usually needed? I've heard as low as 10 min while others soak for like 5 hours!!

The perlite looks like it could be dry. They also look like some pretty big rocks. Also the foil definitely needs to be trimmed back. What sgfc tek did you follow? Did you drill holes on all 6 sides including the bottom?

I only did PF Tek once, but I just dumped 5" into my SGFC and sprayed it down in the tub with the shower head. I don't think you need to soak it at all. Once water comes into contact with all of it, it's as wet as it'll be, I think.
I'm betting the tub setup is bad. Either not a true SGFC, perlite isn't wet, holes are clogged, etc.

ten minutes is just to make sure it gets in all the crevaces and shit, my humble opinion is your jar went anaerobic in the center

Just want to update this post. That whole harvest with the split cap completely aborted. Got them picked, soaked cake, then put the cake in a poor man's terrarium. They fruited beautifully.
