I really am beginning to see him as a shallow blowhard.  He is saying things that a lot of people definitely want to hear.

And the polls that have him ahead, well...I tested one of the online polls and it let me vote for Kasich the Village Idiot 10 times in a row, I could have done one hundred--so the online polls definitely aren't reliable, and they also didn't correlate with what people in discussion forums where actually saying.

I think the Trumpsters better get their heads out of their asses and start listening before they push him into the nomination and Hillary gets elected.

National Polling shows Trump vs. Hillary as just about the worse match possible for Republicans.

It's refreshing to see someone with anti-establishment views, but he's not seriously in the running to be president.  You can't win the presidency and be that big of an asshole.

You guys should have stuck with Rand Paul. He has a coherent ideology, liberals agree with him on many issues, and he doesn't sound like a blowhard asshole. I would have loved to see a Rand Paul vs Bernie Sanders matchup!

Actually, they can.  But they have to have real substance or be able to bullshit like they have real substance.

The game changer for me was the China/TPP connection he made.  I think it shows that he blows a bunch of smoke out of his asshole with the buzz words stuck in that are what people want to hear.  He didn't do his research obviously.

Paul pointed it out and it was a classically fatal political blunder.  He can't make many more like that or I think someone like Ted Cruz will eat him alive if they go head to head.

This reminds me of a toxic relationship between a man and a woman in which the man continues to control the woman, keeping her from speaking her mind, calling her stupid whenever she does. She tries to find ways to win her independence, to be heard, to be free, but he keeps pushing her back against the wall, telling her that she’s the problem. Over time, the anger swells within her. She’s afraid. She isn’t free, and she hates it. She’s powerless. Anytime she tries to stand up for herself, she is mocked and slapped down. Her fear resides. Her anger grows. Her hope recedes. One day, she just loses it. She lights a match and burns the whole house to the ground. Give me liberty or give me death takes on a whole new meaning in the context of oppression and abuse.

Hopelessness and helplessness lead to destruction. Always. Who’s at fault in this situation? Is it the irrational, angry woman who burns the house to the ground? Or is it the man who has pushed her, controlled her, ridiculed her, stolen her liberty, and caused her to live in fear for years?

It's clearly the woman who gave all of those things up to an abusive man. Women like to talk as though they desire to be measured as equals to men, but then they write this kind of horse shit about what helpless children they are.

This is an easy game to play, because men are so often depicted as the violent oppressors, and nobody would disagree with the fact that a man abusing a woman is wrong. However, women have been shown to be responsible for violence in relationships far more often than men, and nobody ever talks about it. If they did talk about it, they would chastise the man for staying with an abusive woman, and perhaps there is some credence to that argument. The solution surely isn't to burn the house down.

This bitch is a coward and an arsonist. Plain and simple.

Everything he said about China and their currency manipulation is spot on, China is huge for the US. Anyone else on that stage able to bring up that subject matter?  No. In fact, they all support even more globalization.

i just thought it was funny that she spent the whole article trying to promote tea baggers as being rationally fearful of the "establishment" then goes on to put this little fantasy as the cherry on top.

its a little apologia for the "i don't like it, so i'll burn the house down" mentality that these people have.

If Obama wasn't president he would be a very approachable person.  Trump on the other hand would be an asshole.  Part of why Obama got elected is because she's such a personable believable guy.

No they don't supporting FREE trade is not supporting globalization.  But the TPP is not about Free Trade.  He did hit China on their currency manipulation, but they aren't part of the TPP, though they could be allowed in.  And in the end, TPP isn't about free trade--it's about a left agenda.

With that said, a tarrif system against other countries won't help.  That is one of the key lessons from the Great Depression (Smoot-Hawley Tarriff act) and a key reason why China's economy is sputtering right now.  Also, it is a key reason Japan has been stagnant for 20 or so years.

You cant hoard other nations currency.  IT does no good sitting in a bank.  It has to be used to buy goods from the other country.

It is right to hit back against China and other nations that protect their own markets.  How to do it is another animal and a harder problem.

As I said, hitting back against China is something everyone wants to do--but how is Trump going to hit back?

I argue he is saying what people want to hear. We've already had 7 years of platitudes and rhetoric by Dogshit Barry.

"a tariff system against other countries won't help"

It's the only way to create a balance of trade, why isn't the markets adjusting to the huge trade deficits?

"Smoot-Hawley Tariff act"

That doesn't mean tariffs wouldn't work today, that's a very poor example in a very different time.

China is doing just fine and so are the US elite that profit from the current setup, the US working class are the one's taking the beating.

It's time we PROTECT US citizens and not the very rich, we can NOT continue to gut more industry and jobs out of the country, we will lose even more standard of living and turn into a 2nd world nation.

Also, Japan and Europe are also in the dumps because they did the same thing the US did, they entered the world of globalization with 3rd world economies, it doesn't work.

A left agenda? :lolsy:

There is no left or right anymore. The TPP marks the final steps in a corporate takeover of America and everyone loyal to it. It fucks you out of every single democratic right you have left. The Senate isn't divided on it by party. It isn't a party issue. They all want it. If you've ever bothered to read some of the key points you'd probably be shocked at what exactly it's asking the nation's signing it to sacrifice.

Exactly.  It's supported by big corporations, and therefore both parties back it up.  If anything (simply to correct starfire_xes' position), more Democrats have opposed TPP than republicans.
