loph help
    #22507776 - 11/11/15 01:13 AM (8 years, 2 months ago)

i have a few lophs and whenever i put them in a sunny position, usually full sun they get really squishy, ive since put them in full shade\indirect light and theyve lost most of the squishy feeling, how do i got about putting them in the sun ? i can only assume full shade isnt too good for them and i cant really control the sun they get through the day as i work 7am-6pm

any suggestions ?

Some shade cloth might help, 30% or so, allowing them more light each day but taking out some of the intensity, resulting in more overall light than keeping them in a more solid shade. Positioned right, they could see direct sun for the morn and eve, and the cloth keeping the most intense midday sun off of them lowering burning problems.

My lophophora spend all day every day in the strong Spanish sun, with no problems at all - although we have no clue where you are.
They can get squishy if they are too dry - when well watered they plump up and become firm.

Maybe some mod or whatever might think this has now been long enough.
