Contamination disposal, keeping your home safe?
    #22506419 - 11/10/15 06:18 PM (8 years, 2 months ago)

Im curious to know before i get started with my first grow. when it comes to contamination at any stage of the process from inoculation to fruiting, at what point do you throw away the contaminated part? Specifically im curious if you have a contamination in the fruiting chamber of any kind of foreign microbe do you toss the whole crop? or is some level of contamination okay to deal with during the fruiting processes.

Lastley as a home grower whats the general consenscious on keeping my home safe from airborne mold etc. Do most growers keep a room isolated or is a FC in a closet okay.Is there a dedicated procedure for proper disposal of anything contaminated so that i don't get anyone in my home sick. I.E don't open a moldy jar inside? If mold is found how extensive of a sanitization process is required to ensure home safety after the fact?

If its bacterial then you can isolate and probably get some fruits. If it turns to mold you need to trash it outside, although if there are any fruits at the time you can pick them as long as they don;t have mold on them.

Houses are pretty much full of mold spores anyway, just try inoculating a jar in open air and see how long it lasts, but not opening moldy jars is def a good plan to try and keep the levels as low as possible
