i'm curious? i'm sure some of you do.
what type of help do you give to better humanity?
and whats your reasoning behind it?
i've been pretty busy lately but i feel like i should get back into it. i used to work with several organizations working with kids and old folks, and feeding peoples. i think soon or atleast come winter.. it'd be nice if you did somthing too.
especially with thanksgiving and christmas coming up.
i kinda just like the feel of knowing someone might get along better with life.tilt the balance a bit, i dunno.
discuss intelligently.

I used to do a bunch of volunteer trail work at parks I would spend a lot of time at. I need to get my life back to where I can do that.

I used to volunteer at soup kitchens and food shelves in MN. It was refreshing and rewarding. The only downside was having to sit through prayers and stuff before opening the doors. People can believe what they will, but people helping people has nothing to do with the Christian God.

Yes, the past few summers ive interned (volunteer) at a local incubator farm... Actually I have played a vital role in its first few years laying the ground work for irrigation piping.... fencing.... building hoops houses... etc etc.
Not to mention being able to work with the Refugee farmers is such a joy regardless of the diverse language barriers between the Bhutanese, Somalian, and middle easterner farmers we aided. What a beautiful program.... Ive also done lots of other random agriculture work for low income and underprivileged minorities as well as just low income. Working with local markets and other things.
Ill always keep one hand in the earth... knowing where the food comes from and that its locally sourced and eaten local is great... especially when numerous restaurants buy from the organic farm I work on during the summers (albeit that's not volunteer).
I've been looking into doing the peace corps or something once graduated or perhaps after med school .
Im looking for some more opportunities currently... something in the medical field most likely to be volunteer/intern at a hospital for a bit.
oh and i also frequently pick up trash as i go for walks and stuff while not volunteering its still stewardship of the earth where no one else is going to bother. But I like to think most people do the same....

Picking up other people's garbage is a pain in the ass when I'm trying to hunt. I'd stick a nail in the bottom of my walking stick so I don't have to bend over so much, but I need it to walk and keep my balance. Helping the environment is priority, but it doesn't hurt getting a nice glance at the bottom of dune grass.
