my new jar lids

I think they should do nicely
Postal tyvek glued down with a ring of clear silicone around 6 1/4 inch holes that were drilled through the lid
Some were made with silicone injection ports and some with the self healing blue ones. I found that a 3/8 inch hole drilled into the lid tightly fits those blue ports with no need for gluing or sealing them up.
I also finally made some liquid culture type lids with a clampable hose secured with silicone and a breathable syringe filter siliconed into the end. I reporposed the clear tubing used for the clamping mechanism for my spawn bags. Perfect diameter for those small syringe filters to fit into.

You'll most likely have to change the tyvek after each PC run.
What's up with the hoses and syringe filters?

They look great. I like polyfill just because it's easier, faster and super super cheap.

You can clamp the hose to ensure the filter does not get wet. This allows you to shake the fuck out of a LC jar to both aerate it and to break up the myc. Also lets you tilt the jar any old way to get myc down to the syringe draw off point.
I do not bother with filters on most LCs, I get fine growth by leaving the jar about 1/3rd full of LC.

well I've reused lids with tyvek filters before as they seems to be exactly the same after pcing them. is there a degradation of its filtering abilities after pressure cooking?
I also wondered how breathable two layers of tyvek would be. one on top of the jar and one on the bottom( inside). maybe just to get more life out of them if they do break down or stop filtering as well
