Makes sense in theory but it's pretty sketchy to hand that kind of power over to ones government. For sure though, done right, it could be a good idea

Doesn't really matter because in practice people rarely cross that line.

They're talking about mental handicaps
I think the real problem is where do you draw the line? Down syndrome? Autism? Aspergers? Bipolar? Depression?
Get my drift? History shows time and time again you give up one right and they're gonna keep taking and pushing it. It will also discourage people from seeking help.

What they should do is pay mentally ill, or handicapped people(Men included) to NOT have children
We currently PAY people to have children, and we give them EXTRA money if they aren't married. its an absurd policy that should stop.
we need to reward shitheads for NOT having shithead children. not vice versa

I'm fine with that, as long as it is their choice. There's a program that pays people 200 dollars to be sterilized called crack actually, lol.Quote:

And this is what is wrong with the world. People don't give a single fuck about rights being taken or injustices so long as it does not effect them. We start letting the government do shit like this and soon enough they will do something that will effect you. And guess what, everyone who it does not effect won't give a fuck.

200$ is a paltry sum for forfeiting your genetics though, especially for a lifetime
someone can have a one night stand, get pregnant, and get paid hundreds of dollars every month from the father,(or state) only to create more strain on society and the economy and single people without children get no break at all

well the alternative is to find out what a reasonable population number is, close the boarders ect right, so we have a number and ruled out the outside influence affecting said number. Next, we keep a running tally of this number updated on the fly, and whenever a baby is born and it crosses that number they just abort it.
that way everyone gets to keep their rights
or we can just turn off the medical field to lower numbers that way
other than that, what is everyones plan for lowering the population? i mean war doesn't really work anymore, at this point they kind of have to just drop troops out of a plane with faulty parachutes to impact the population growth

1st world countries are all seeing their birthrates drop. Population won't be the issue everyone seems to think it is... At least here and in Europe and successful Asian countries.

no, they foot the bill for people who cant take care of their children. I know this first hand, my cousin have FIVE(5) children and STILL IS NOT MARRIED. want to know why? because his girlfriend gets a massive tax break, even though they live together
To put it in more simple terms, there are no "bonus points" for not having children. only if you do
people are literally paid to shit all over the gene pool

All that would require more intervention from the government. How about we stop paying women to have kids and get rid of the corrupt family/divorce court.

Yeah that's true, but the amount of money the average taxpayer pays for social assistance programs is miniscule compared to all the other shit their taxes go to.

Tax credits do not cover the cost of a kid... Not even close.
If you think monetary incentive will prevent people from doing what 3 billion years of instinct has driven them to do then you don't understand people, or life, very well. And if you think poor, unintelligent people are going to have the foresight and will power to think about the future then you don't understand poor, unintelligent people very well.

It's not like they're actually making money, though. They get a break, but the cost of raising a child is much more than what they get back on taxes.
Edit.. Commie beat me
