Put vermiculite in the oven, left my cakes on the stove

My cakes are dunked and I left them on the stove while I had the vermiculite I'm going to be rolling them with in the oven. My stove got a little hot because of the oven and the water which the cakes are floating in became warm..
Should I be concerned that I might have just screwed up my cakes?

If they were right over the oven vent (usually back left burner) then possibly, otherwise it probably didn't get hot enough to kill the mycelium,

RR said you could in the Let's Grow Mushroom videos to kill any mold spores that may have landed on it.

Yeah I think it's a good idea if you're having contam issues and not sure where to look but usually it's completely unnecessary.

You can use the verm right out of the bag. As mentioned earlier, it is unnecesary to try to sterilize it. Your cakes should be fully colonized at this point, and will be able to fight off most contams.
