I just finished setting up my FC and rolling my first two cakes (the others are still consolidating or colonizing). I realize I don't have any holes (I lost my drill bit), but will this do?
I mean.. there'll only be 2-4 cakes in there at any given moment and it's a 66qt tote, plus I'll be able to mist and fan 3-5 times a day for this whole upcoming week. I have one of those heater fan things in my room so the temperature is in the mid to high 70s. I also have perlite in there and am keeping the lid on loosely.
will I be fine? I'm not able to get another drill bit for at least a week but the cakes are already in the FC.
also, do the cakes look good? is there sufficient verm casing? did I miss anything on them?

The cakes look fine but make it a priority to get those holes in there as soon as possible on all 6 sides for best results:super:

:lmafo: Drilling all those holes is a pain in the ass, but necessary. My SGFC was a 110 quart, Me- "I'm going out to the shed and drilling these holes real quick" yeah right, thought I was going to burn up my cordless drill

When you get your new bit take your cakes out sit them on a plate or something, dump your perlite into a bag drill all the holes then put it back in. It would probably be easier that way since you have to flip it upside down to get the bottom holes and make less of a mess.

alright, will do!
if I mist and fan a good 5 times or so a day tho do you think it'll be fine? because I may not get a new bit until those cakes currently sitting there are probably done already.
oh and how long does fruiting take on average? a week?

Everyone will experience different levels of ambient humidity in their homes, depending on where you live and how well your home is constructed. I live in Colorado, so I would have to mist at least twice as often as somebody in a coastal state like Washington, Oregon, etc. You just have to experiment, you'll eventually settle into a good misting cycle for your unique ambient conditions.

I got a lil paranoid but over it now. So didnt want to post. All is well and im in love with this hobby. Out of 9 tubs only one went bad on my first grow. But i fucked with it to much.

Learnt a lil patience in the last month.

Dont have any nice pics now but all the tubs had great flushes. The pictures are 234 and 5th flushes. And some pics are after harvest. Please point out problems if you see one.

Another thing. I dont dip my tubs i just leave them and keep misting them till they flush again. Can someone explain or point me in the direction of what to do after harveating. The dunk and what what?

Thank all of you for the help.

There should be tiny droplets of moisture on the surface of the substrate which evaporates off over time.

When evaporated, mist them again....repeat when the water you misted evaporates off the surface of the substrate.

by substrate do you mean the dry verm casing?

I mean whatever surface of the substrate you want to fruit from.....if that means a verm casing then sure.

I might need to clean my glasses then because I'm having a hard time seeing tiny droplets

It will look like your shower door when properly misted. If you are spraying and there are not tiny droplets than you might consider changing the method of sprayer. I like azur's garden mister 1.5 gallon from Lowes. Works pretty well for a fine mist, and has an adjustable nozzle to get those heavy sprays when filling up fruiting trays.
