I'll just put somewhere not too obvious.. but which tek should I follow if I plan to use cost effective supplies and a cheap fruiting chamber that, preferably, doesn't eat up all my time? like I said earlier, I plan to dunk and roll the cakes too and I don't have a PC. also growing at around 65 degrees, altho I don't think that should matter much from what I've gathered. any ideas on teks? I don't want it to occupy a lot of space either.. 12 cakes max

30 min to an hour.
I usually do 30 min. I use 27 qt mini monos. They don't need as long a soak as the bigger tubs.

LOL @ PC test run. At first appearance after opening PC it appears that the sprint in the mechanical chopper gave way. Everything else looks and smells okay.

Pull the chopper out and sure enough the plastic melted. It says its PP5 on the body, but clearly not everywhere.
There's always the Ninja! The ninja body also has PP5 code, but I couldn't find the plastic code on the cover or base. I am assuming is was 2 because...

Safe to assume these won't work. I have a Magic bullet. All parts on that at pp5. That's where I am headed unless I try the syringe tek. On a positive note while my yield from my Argentina tub wasn't high they were beefy. The flush is only 25% done, these were the first to go 235 g wet.

And I have 1 liter of MEA to pour in my new plates!

Harvested and dried 2 zips of blobs Sub dunked for second flush Started another tub, 7 quarts PE to CV no gypsum in substrate this time, used it in the oat prep only. Cased with 3 quarts jiffy and poly at spawning.

LOL, I'm definitely all blobbed out.
Here's 13oz of blobs and 4oz of blob powder:

There's another zip of blobs on the dehydrator now and like 2 more in some bag somewhere.

Damn, that's a lot of blobs stare Yeah I was hoping for more, but I have heard blob flushes can yield less sometimes so I wasn't expecting much. Might have harvested them a bit early too I was talking with Eat and he said poly at spawning seemed to cut back on blobs for him, I have a surplus of PE spawn so I thought I would give it a shot and compare. I'm just glad to have some, I haven't tripped in a while looking forward to getting into these.

Let me know how they go. Also if you have the Oster setup for LI, you can use that to grind the powder without losing any in transferring. Just keep the reg-mouth jar you use as the storage container. I snap a pic of my fruiting blob tubs once or twice a day and compare so I know when to harvest.

will do. I don't mind that they are blobs, the yield just sucked. I will probably spawn one more PE tub then start working with something different. I put that AA+ to agar and have a B+ clone from my last grow I'd like to test.

so I was wondering about using a styrofoam cooler as a shotgun fruiting chamber (the kind with holes on all sides and a layer of damp perlite at the bottom).. would using one without a humidifier, heater (room temp is 60-65 degrees), or air pump be fine? I wouldn't mind the slightly slower growth that comes at that temperature range since it gives better fruits from what I've gathered and I also wouldn't mind misting and fanning 1-3 times a day and providing ~6 hours of light. the reason I'm considering the styrofoam cooler over a plastic bin is because I imagine it'd be waaay easier to drill the holes and make other modifications which I don't have proper tools for if I'd pick a plastic FC. what are your thoughts on this?

Get a screwdriver, heat it with a torch and poke the holes. It's easier then screwing. You really don't want to mess with the SGFC design. Many have and poor results have occurred.
Trust me, do exactly what that guy does in those videos. I know this sounds harsh but don't think for yourself until you've grown a few mushrooms and understand their needs.

No clue, and the term you're looking for is variety. The last picture of mycelium sectors are strains. The fruits in the initial pictures are comprised of LOTS of different strains. And yeah, they're either Mexi-Albino, B+ or Treasure Coast. I mixed them up when I first started and they're all my initial grows.
Go buy a 66 quart clear Sterilite tote and follow the SGFC instructions perfectly. They're like $8 at Target. Drilling into a styrofoam tote seems annoying and I wouldn't trust the bottom not to cave out when lifting it.
