You mean like his dear collegue Kramer's racist rant?
There's a difference in comedy in saying something to be funny or to be offensive, Kramer wasn't trying to be funny and apart from juSt knowing each other I don't see the connection between that rant and what Seinfeld said
A lot of people try to shame or censor comedians because they find what they say offensive and forget theyre listening to jokes, and bloggers among other types go out of their way to go to these shows and try to find something to be offended at. Just because you took offense, doesn't mean it meant to offend, it's honestly really easy to tell the intent behind a joke in almost all forms of comedy which 99% of the times the intent is to make someone laugh, but some people feel them not enjoying it is grounds to stop someone from saying it even if other people find it funny, which is retarded

No need for insults. If I remember correctly you're the one that ran up in here calling people like soooo dumb. But yet you type like your cat runs across your keyboard and then you just hit post.

What does that have to do with anything? Kramer had a mental breakdown on stage, we are talking about mainstream comedians avoiding college campuses.

Yeah well, remember what happened on colleges in the 60-70's? That's right, organised resistance to the regime. An attempted revolution. Breeding grounds for the counter culture.
We don't want that to happen again now do we?
Are you trying to compare the 60's counter culture movement with the PC Police of today? Because it's not even close at all, today is the push for restriction of thought and speech, it's the complete opposite.
The push for restriction of thought and speech is an action to prevent the rise of a modern counter culture.

Counter culture on today's college campuses is tolerance and free speech.
I still don't know what that Missouri president did wrong.

From what I understand they, too, can write their name in the snow. Unless their name is something like Esmerelda Villa Lobos. That might be a problem.

if we were having a serious conversation about this topic - which, by the way, i don't think we are in the least - we would do well to parse out what kids are actually "whining" about. even though we have made progress on certain issues, we still live in a society in which inequality persists in myriad ways for myriad people, including middle aged white males without a college education (or less), whose mortality rates have risen over twenty percent since 1999 for reasons that nobody seems to agree on other than that shit is pretty fucked up right now. if we were to take a step back from our long held positions and tired, empty rhetoric, we may see that at the core of all this "whining" are valid grievances against a society that hates its youth.
it's not that i endorse these radicalized ideologies. but i certainly understand what's behind them. and none of it follows from participation trophies, laziness or "entitlement". our kids are about to have some real problems on their hands e.g. income inequality via wage stagnation, an utterly broken democracy, an impending environmental crisis, a looming and possibly dramatic escalation of our wars etc. i can see why anyone would look at the way things are now and want to throw themselves down the rabbit hole of feminism, anti-feminism, hyper-religiosity, or extreme left or right wing politics. it's all too much. and that's just how those in power want it: an atomized society allows for all of the aforementioned problems to exist.
so what i propose is trying to learn from people we disagree with. that's the approach i always at least try to take. even if i disagree with someone, that doesn't mean i can't learn from them. and if we can learn from each other, perhaps we can find enough common ground to just let our disagreements stand. i don't require everyone to share my views of what the good life is. but sooner or later we are all going to have to come together on the inescapable realities of what's happening or we're just not going to have a world.
