These exibit no blueing. Found in texas where psilocybin cubensis should be: cow crap.

Unfortunately, I haven't found one recognizable cube amongst the thousands of shrooms growing right now.

It's a Panaeolus species, perhaps P. antillarum.

Welcome to the Shroomery! :toast:

Fyi: There is no such mushroom as 'psilocybin cubensis'. Attention to detail is paramount when it comes to the study and identification of mushrooms.

If you are in one of the right regions for P. cubensis, fear not, just keep looking and you will find them.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Thank you very much. The area seems perfect for what I thought was p. Cubensis but it's like they just don't grow here. I used to hunt very often and have found stellar qualities and qualities in the same conditions but different area.

Well, without being too specific, in what area are you hunting? It's entirely possible they don't.

Or do, but aren't common.

Sounds pretty appropriate. I don't particularly know the ecology of the area but I suppose you're probably on the right track there.

It probably won't hurt you to keep on the lookout for similar looking Panaeolus too, and checking those for blueing. Make sure you're hunting as many pastures/cattle leases as you have access too.

If that fails, try to get closer to the coast.

Will do. It's kind of discouraging though seeing hundreds of perfect pastures but finding nothing that turns blue.
