I found the first ones I'm thinking are azures, in grass and forest on the Oregon coast.

OK thanks Canid. I should tell you I've seen 100 replies of yours to other post and never cared but now I appreciate you. I know I found 2 or 3 azures in that batch of questionables. I also know a few of the others I found are possibly good ones too but I don't want to over whelm everyone by questioning every shroom. I think I found stunzii too and some cubes but hard to tell with out some one experienced. The library and internet have been my best friends for a month or so but pictures are nothing compared to the real thing.

I was so frustrated today on 3 hours sleep in 2 days. I almost gave up and then found a patch. It's my first one. I even told a member I'm giving up and going back into cultivating and just a few minutes pins were all over the place.

Hang in there buddy you'll get it.
And to be honest I picked a lot of the same a few times.

I feel bad about the first picture. Little guy came up moving some grass (at least it left stem and butt behind) Notice the tell-tale blue ring along the bottom of the cap.
The last picture shows two stages of growth. Whoever picked the area last had missed one. Now it's wheat color in wheat colored grass. That is why you need to pay attention to the weather. I thought the first azzie I found was bleached.. this takes it to a whole new stage of growth I had never seen before.
I hope these help.

Check out this thread. It has my most recent mistakes followed by success. Keep at it brother! Great advice and help in that thread too.

Pay attention to for small stuff like

And

Notice in the first picture.. that's the " stem butt ". People don't usually take them unless they have a project in mind.
In the second photo look at the mycelium coming up the stipe (stem).
Pick azzies by pinching them so you leave the "root" behind. I'm sure I left a few inches of stems behind today but whatever, I'm not killing someone's patch.

Thanks for the input, sorry for the delayed response I took a break. Had myself a cyan time and now I'm back. Your input is very helpful.

Just to clarify in case.. a stem butt doesn't always mean azzie though. Plenty of others can come out of the ground like that; and even look fairly kinda sorta similar for a novice. Believe me I know, I've done it. :P
You want that caramel cap, white stem, blue bruising, clustered together (sometimes not). Check the Wikipedia page, all sorts of good info, and you can always ask here too.

I find so many that are so close some are the right ones. Cyan are way easier to identify, but I'm sure as soon as I get a full batch of Azores I will think differently. I have no doubt I will succeed especially with all this help. Any one know what others are common in the pacific northwest? particularly the Oregon coast beside lbs?

Psilocybe cyanescens, Psilocybe allenii and Psilocybe pelliculosa I find particularly common in coastal Oregon from Coos County north.

I'd like to harvest at least one other species before the season ends. If I've got until late Dec or Jan for azzies, I better get my ass on cyans.
Hard tho, learning to hunt a new species in a new habitat. I can guarantee the time I spent in parks today would have gotten me a bag full of azzies.
Beautiful park though and short of nearly breaking my neck falling off a log it was great. Smelling habitat, then smelling mushrooms, saw a couple of nothings and boom right in the leaf litter.
