Anyone have any millet prep suggestions?

I just switched over from WBS to straight millet for my grain spawn, but I'm noticing it's not colonizing as well in bags. I'd really like to keep using millet because of the cost, greater number of inoculation points, and cleanliness.
My prep isn't too extravagant.
1. 16 hour soak with gypsum in warm water. 2. 3-5x rinse until water runs clean. 3. Simmer for 30 minutes. 4. Dry on a window screen for 45 - 60 minutes, mixing up grains for even drying. 5. Load 3 and 1/2 to 4 quarts per bag with a bit of gypsum and PC for 90 minutes at 15 psi.
Anyone use millet regularly? Advice is greatly appreciated!

millet only needs a 4-6 hour soak or they all explode. You won't need to rinse at all since most feed grain is much cleaner than WBS blends. Here is my prep for white millet. If you have red millet you may have to adjust.
1. line 5 gal pail with paint strainer
2. put pail on scale and weigh out grain
3. place pail on ground and fill 4-6" above grain level
4. allow to sit for 4-6 hours
5. Pull paint strainer with grain out of pail and transfer to 2nd pail, this saves you from lugging around 30 lbs of water.
6.move to kitchen and transfer the grain bag to the sink in a pail with holes in the bottom to drain. Use the elastic top around the top of the pail to hold the bag open for scooping.
7. By time you get your bags laid out and PC out you can start loading jars, im typically loading within 5-10 min from draining.
8. Measure out each jar/bag
9.Place some gypsum on top, do not mix the gypsum This gypsum on top helps reduce exploded cournals which always occurs with millet on the tops of jars, this may or may not occur with bags.
Millet is great milo is a bit less touchy and takes a longer soak. Milo seems to also have denser growth on it. Im just now starting to use wheat as well since it can take a longer soak and its 1/2 the price of millet. Millet is great for master spawn as its more inoculation points and if your using another grain for bulk spawn you can easily see how well your jars or bags are mixed.
good luck!
