wherever i go the land is owned by someone. i have found zero freedom and traveled all over the world

My wife and I like to think this is our house.  Then I remember the multitude of life living here with us.  At night I can see hundreds of worms in the yard after a rain.  Spiders in the garage constantly.  Saw some ants near the kitchen table.  The trees and grass out back, the birds and squirrels in the yard, the billions of microbes crawling through the carpet.  My wife and I like to think this is our house, but in moments of clarity I know this is not the case.

Nobody owns the earth.  Not philosophically, not practically.

Would you agree that some people own much more of earth than others? And when i say earth i dont just mean land(although in places like the US, nobody owns their land due to taxes)

I also mean public opinion, currency, etc

look at africa
a segment of the people that sell the country get paid and the rest of the country has to rely on aid
same with china and labour

the bank probably owns your house... we don't exactly interact with our environment willingly. cities are a virus and so is most of what we do... too many people not enough of other shit

I think in a much larger sense nobody owns the Earth or even a piece of it. We've set up shop here but we won't always be here. We will either meet our end here or we'll simply leave.

If you've ever seen the movie Collateral and remember the scene where Max and Vincent are driving to Club Fever, you'll surely remember when the coyotes walk into the road. Even in the most urban of areas there are wild animals. The world is theirs much more than it will ever be ours and they know it. *Fun Fact: That scene was unscripted.

After the U.S. bombed Hiroshima the city was overtaken by vegetation. Our most destructive weapon killed us and allowed nature to thrive. The same is true of Chernobyl.

I wish everyday for natural disasters and disease to thin us out and ease the destruction and pollution that only our species can create. I believe the world will adapt and "recover" from the damage we've caused it, but I can't help but wonder if part of that recovery process is purging us. Whether you believe in global warming or not, it's at least interesting to entertain the thought that maybe that's the beginning of the end for us. That the shift in weather will bring about sweeping change and we've just gotta go (or at least most of us).

There are much bigger things going on than what happens inside the sphere of society and the laws of man. The smaller your lense the more you think of land ownership and free travel. None of those things fucking matter in the end. It doesn't even really matter if our species makes it. Life will go on somewhere.
