Hey been picking quite a lot this season but only able to get lib caps. I have been doing a little research but I am still finding it hard to find concrete information can anyone give me some advice as to where to find panaeolous cinctulus and some active gymnoplius sp. As I live in Scotland and the only 3 active species are lib caps, pan cincts and gymnopilus sp. Also some help for identification would be much appreciated. With some good information can start posting photos of suspects for identification thanks.

Read
http://www.shroomery.org/9469/Gymnopilus-junonius
and
http://www.shroomery.org/9473/Panaeolus-cinctulus
They are rather consise descriptions and yet they contain literally everything you need to know to target and identify them if they are growing the the areas you have to hunt in. All that is left is to keep hunting whenever the weather has been appropriate for a good while, and if you can not hunt in a specific place you know they occur then to do so in as many places as you can.
They are not rare mushrooms, though they may not be common where you are hunting at any particular time. They do not necessarily grow in every place in which they could.
If you have specific questions, and those questions do not violate the rules of the forum, always feel free and welcome to ask and somebody will help.
If you think you have found some and would like to be sure, post an ID request With a good description and with good photos if possible.
Best of luck, and always keep hunting
