Buddhism and the Samurai have a long association for example.
Being a Buddhist does not imply that one is unwilling or unable to defend ones life or loved ones.
you are aware that the samurai were not simply defending their families and homes many were brutal warlords that treated lesser classes as lower than shit, they called them burakumin, an untouchables class who's life was at the whim of a samurai and it's no different in other buddhist cultures in which classist ideology is rampant with the monks taking the throne and mistreating those under them
the only people I know of that would associate themselves with these faiths are the ones that dont know about these faiths because they were not born into it

common buddhist principle to never kill. You need to fight enemies away with your mind.

buddhist action is to rule and dominate even of that means you have to torture and kill your enemies, where you get this never kill philosophy is certainly not from actual buddhism. it seems to be from soome romanticized view of the beliefs

You don't rly have to call yourself Buddhist to make spiritual progress. I do Buddhist meditation, I chant krishna's name, read the teachings of Jesus, and try to be vegatarian. You can take whatever you want from any religion and incorporate it into your life. Life your life how you want man

Nonsense.
Read the Dhammapada.
Acquaint yourself with the teachings of the Buddha.
Grasp the four noble truths and practice the eightfold noble path.

so you're saying that samurai were peace loving people that only lived to serve others and never harmed anything outside of survival such as to defend their life and to eat. maybe you're saying that tibetan buddist never kidnapped children and forced them into slavery under the guise of being novitiates
what a book says and what is practiced are completely different animals, nearly all religions teach that killing is wrong and that is should not be done but as we see from the actions of these practitioners of these faiths, the teachings have no meaning
even you practice bastard buddhism

I think he is referring to ahimsa. Non-violence is a funny concept often taken way out of context. you are allowed to defend yourself, and speak the truth if it helps others. Its a vague concept up to interpretation
Pointlessly harming other beings outside of basic food and sustenance is where ahimsa is broken and this should be avoided

so it's ok to kill people as long as you intend to eat them

What I am saying is the wisdom of the Buddha, as expressed in the Dhammapada, is transcendent and impeccable , And that by studying and applying this majestic profundity is to the benefit of all beings.
The wisdom of the Buddha as expressed in that book of his own sayings is beyond reproach, Containing within it the way to liberation.
No injustice or wrongdoing was brought about by the Buddhas teaching and any crimes Commited do not have their root or seed in the Dharma.

Lol I'm so glad someone gets it. Someone always brings up random events like Buddhists killing Muslims somewhere to try and act like Buddhism is inherently violent
