here's gluckspilze's blue oyster on pasteurized straw.
sraw was packed into PP bags and pasteurized with hot water in the barrel @70-85 celsius for 90 minutes.
we then inocluated the straw with grain spawn made from LC.

here are some examples of what it looks like in different fruiting conditions.
fruited outdoors, on a shady balcony.

fruited in the shed with very little light.

on straw, fruited in the growroom.

the stem, that it forms when growing out of the punctured holes is very fleshy and choise edible due to it's chewy texture. (maybe for soup base)
tastes very strong, but pleasant when raw. shrinks a LOT when cooked. reatins a very distinct mushroomy crunch when in sauces. tastes excellent. and it's sporeless
here's the final product.

Very nice!
Really like your propane water heater. Is that an insulated 55 gallon drum? Home made?

Fantastic! I love that first pic. What an awesome work space there. I could see me kicking back on that bench after working. And the flowers look great. Isn't it amazing how much variation there is in color with the different temps? Thanks for sharing!

not to thread jack but I was thinking about getting one of those single propane burners. Then I was like, wait, for the same price I can get a BBQ with a side burner AND grill like a boss.Lots more functionality. Is there any difference between your rig and a side burner other than maybe BTU output??

A propane burner is 40-$120 and 40-120,000 btu. A grill with a side burner might be 20-30,000 Btu. And you cant put more than 5 or so gallons on a side burner due to weight. Even the best propane burner can't take the full load of a 55 gal drum but you can easily use bricks or build a stand to support the drum over the burner.
