(ID) what the hell is this?!?!
    #22491183 - 11/07/15 02:47 PM (8 years, 2 months ago)

Hey everyone, My friend found these a while back but hadnt told me about them until now. I have never seen this type of mushroom before so i was wondering if anyone would tell what they are, and if they are hallucinogenic or not.

-The main thing that has me confused is that they have a blue/black thin cap, yellow gills and stem (that bruise blue apparently), but i cant find anything on the int. that looks similar.

-They were found in the auckland region in NZ by a pond in some mud in a forest and i don't have a spore print (apologies). Pics are below! Thanks!

Hygrocybe/Gliophorus. I think there may be more than one species like it but the well known one is G. psittacinus.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

I found something similar in Washington state growing in grass under pine trees. It was extremely slimy and the stem easily split into thin pieces while it was in my hand.

I think what you have is some sort of Waxy Cap?

Looks like we are in mushroom country.

Isn't NZ meant to have a bizarre assortment of Gliophorus? The species is likely endemic.
