All of a sudden between yesterday and today some black and purplish hues have spread throughout the fc.

If there were mature mushrooms that already broke the veil in that area than it could be spores and that’s really what it looks like. I don't see any mature shrooms in those pictures though which would make me a little nervous.

did you have any caps open? Looks like spores to me. Im by no means an expert. But my fc usually looks like that after a few caps start sporeulating.

I would get those cakes away from the other cakes. Those aren't spores. That's some nasty stuff.

Yeah I have already picked close to 40-50 mushrooms from within that existing flush, where the veil had opened.

Then that is probably spores. If you didn't pick any mushrooms though that black would be really bad.

Don't freak out like people here if its black mold it won't only be on the surface. If its spores it'll be on the surface. I'd just touch it spores kinda stick to your finger.

Trust me. If you picked mushrooms that were mature they were going to drop spores. As I said spores will sit right on the substrate and will just be a very thin layer. If that is black mold than it will begin colonizing the substrate and not only be directly on the surface. Just do a little investigation will take 10 seconds.

I did the investigating and it was a dusty layer that rubbed off. Should I remove the spores, or can I keep them there? Do I need to, in essence, make any changes?

Spores don't really matter. Only change I would make is harvest when the veil breaks not long after. That way you won't have spores everywhere like this. Other than that I wouldn’t worry. Mushrooms produce spores everything sounds safe.

They are spores. First thing that crossed my mind. They will get dirtier if you don't harvest soon enough.

Is that a bad thing though? Because the mushrooms' veils are not opened yet. Should I re-dunk the cakes?

No... assuming those are just spores, which seems to be the case, they won't hurt anything. They are just messy.
The fruits will start dropping the spores soon after the caps open.
Most people harvest the fruits just as the veil starts tearing away from the stem. (it is also widely accepted that potency is at its peak at this point as well)........
