What is the best experience of your life? * 3
    #22489666 - 11/07/15 08:55 AM (8 years, 2 months ago)

I've had so many good experiences in my life. I bet most of you guys have too. I'm not sure what I would say is number one. Going to Japan to take my black belt test in Aikido was pretty amazing. A particular moment of sitting by the ocean on LSD watching the sunset was right up there.

What is the best experience of your life?

Too many to choose from really. Phish's Magnaball from this summer is up there at the top.

Yeah I've had some peak experiences at Phish shows for sure. Some very magical times at the Gorge.

What about the time you drove around the country in a psychedelic bus full of hippies on LSD?

It was a chilly night at Some Kind Of Jam 9, I had tripped face and gotten into all kinds of shenanigans the night before, popped some MDMA after the psyches wore off and went to watch the arrival of dawn with some friends

Words cannot describe the way I felt as the MDMA began to take hold and the light of the Sun shined down upon me.. pure bliss is an understatement

I studied horticulture. Did two diploma courses in 4 years I just finished this year. Got a Greenhouse Technician diploma and a Horticulture Technician Diploma. I'm planning on doing my bachelor of science degree spwcializing in hydroponic/aquaponics in the next few years. I would love to purse that right away but I'm eager to start working so I think I'll work for a bit then go back for my bachelors when I pay off the diplomas. I'd also like to eventually get a masters degree.

There's too many, but there's one that sticks out. Probably many years ago at burning man. I was out all night with one other friend and we found a pillow fight in the sky (obvious joined right in) as the sun was coming up. It was like something out of a Miyazaki film.  :inlove:

Probably defending my thesis and standing next to my mom as my committee discussed. Then my advisor walked out of the room, looked me straight in the eye, extended his hand and said: "It's my pleasure to be the first to formally address you as Dr. _____"

I'd say some of my best experiences in life have involved psychedelics, but to me that's different from "drugs" in a certain sense. I mean yeah they are just drugs, but they can also be so much more.

the best experience of my life was growing up, next it'll be dying.

i am just trying to consolidate the entire question in one finite answer...personally, aside from that tid-bit of bullshit, i have had some really nice experiences on drugs, with friends, and with my own joy of discovery.

basically anything new = good experience. i couldn't just nail down one or two specifics...

especially since i've got alot ahead of me still, i hope.

but basically if i had to sum it up:

drug peaks

laughing alot with friends

being places - anywhere - that was in nature or in public masses

cartoons and video games when i was younger, and sports, i remember when i actuallly played sports, lol...playing with other kids via actual contact (play fighting, tag, ect), and not just shooting shit or shooting the shit.

ect ect ect

it never really ends until it ends.

I was thinking that too.
Meeting the first girl I fell in love with was one of the best times of my life, however I didn't say it because I hate her now and the way things ended made me regret every moment I spent with her. But at the time before shit hit the fan, it was one of te best times of my life.

Hearing my son's little mewling cries for the first time.  Holding him.  Makes me get misty eyed just thinking about it.

I took a few cool trips to Europe in 2002-03.  One to Germany with some old friends, one to England with some awesome ladies, and the best vacation was to Amsterdam with my father.

Until I was 10 or so my grandparents had this amazing house on the Shrewsbury River in NJ.  It's the setting for my happiest childhood memories.

In the late 90s I went to about a million raves.  Not that all or even any if them were the "best experience", but the general spirit of the time was fantastic.  I was 16-18, young enough that I had pretty much no real responsibilities, but old enough that I had plenty of freedom.  Had very close friends, lots of good drugs, was absolutely carefree.  I look back at the whole 90s rave scene, the zeitgeist that created it, and am grateful to have been a part of it all.

the wife and I tried for eight long years and went through many doctors and many meds before it worked.  there is a night when we first took my son home and I was holding him rocking him in the rocking chair than was my mom's and before that my grandmother's (3 generations of kids rocked inthis chair)  thinking about ever let down and negative pregnancy test over the previous eight years.  that evening iI cried harder than I ever have in my life while staring into my boys eyes.

the fourth time I took shrooms was the first time I took then not as a party dug.I was 17, and had hiked up to the peak of the small mountain ridge behind my parents house.  I absolutely lost myself up there in the woods and let go for the first time in my life and for the first time felt deep deep love and beauty all around and came to the realization that it can stem from me infinitely if I simply choose.

Doing a ranger course in SA was without a doubt the best. Sleeping outdoors for a month, waking up before the sunrise, hiking through the bush, eating full English breakfasts, getting lectures on the wildlife and the ecosystem, hosting game drives, playing cards at night while the hyena's keep sneaking up on your back... Awesome times.

Re: What is the best experience of your life? [Re: nuentoter]

The first thing that comes to mind is my first blow job  I'm not even kidding. I was hooked from that moment on.

I don't really have a lot of great experiences in my life. I have a kid, so I know I'm supposed to say watching him be born, but fuck that. That was just traumatizing. Wife was in labor for 21 hours or some shit. Watching someone you care about in that much pain for that long, is devoid of all beauty. Not to mention that when it finally does happen, it ends up looking like a murder scene. It is nothing like what they show in movies/tv shows.

My best shroom trip comes to mind. 5 or so grams powdered in capsules. I can't count how many trips I've had, but none compare to that one. I was just gone and it was in the best sense possible. Hours long full body orgasms and transcendence. At one point I was one with everything and everyone. There was no I or they. I was part of the rest of the planet beaming positive vibes into deep space like some kind of beacon is the best I can really do to explain it. In that moment I actually believed every single thing was connected and linked at the conscious level. If all my trips were like that, I'd probably be doing it every few days for the rest of my life. There really aren't words to explain that experience.

At the time they meant little, but I look back on a lot of the experiences with my brother and am very grateful to of had them. He was my best friend and we had a lot of good times. I cherish those memories.

I didn't get my driver's license until I was 28 or so. I got caught with weed when I was 18, and one of the automatic penalties here, is that you get suspended for 6 months. I waited the 6 months and then started trying to get it. I played a week long game of phone tag with the DMV trying to figure out how to get it after those months were up. At the end of it I was told I had to attend some specific drug class which only existed over an hour away, and was basically a 40 hour course (8 hours a day, 5 days total). You have to attend all 8 hours, and all 5 days in a row. If you don't do either, you start over. I had no one at all who could drive me that far, drop me off, and come back to pick me up and especially not for 5 days in a row. Years later when I finally did have that option, I couldn't get any information from the DMV on what class it was I had to attend. Suddenly no one had any fucking idea at all. So the matter got dropped yet again. Years later, it turns out ALL OF THIS was complete bullshit, I was eligible for my license, and that I had been routinely given false information for YEARS. Finally getting my license was pretty damn amazing. When I think back on all of it now, I want to go fucking postal on the DMV, at the time I was only ecstatic I could finally legally drive. Now that I'm used to it, I'm back to wanting to kick the shit out of everyone I talked to over the years. :crankey: Get your fucking shit together you stupid mother fuckers.

Lots of awe-inspiring posts in here. This was a great idea for a thread, props to whoever was the OP.

There's a few that stick out to me. One is kinda recently, last december tripping hard as fuck on 4-AcO-DMT for the first time with my girlfriend. I was having a really rough time at first then my girlfriend started showing me all the things she got for Christmas and for some reason I just started crying I was so happy. I looked at her and she was just so beautiful, and I felt such a deep connection to her. I felt like I finally remembered what it was like to really feel joy, and at such a simple moment.

Another was when I was 18, my two best friends and I decided to make one last hardcore band before I moved out of my hometown (I was involved in countless musical projects with one of the dudes before that, the other dude wasn't really a musician at all but he was our friend). The whole process of writing, recording, and playing a couple shows was hands down the most rewarding thing I've ever done. Even though that band wasn't even that great and I've honestly made better things since musically, it felt like everything clicked and that we were making music that actually meant something, if only to us. I know that sounds cheesy as shit or like something out of a bad movie but it was really one of the best experiences in my life to me.

A couple years earlier than that I was in a really shitty hardcore band, but we were REALLY popular for some reason. Touring, recording, etc with that band was awesome too just because of all the new experiences I gained and because of how much everyone was into the music. Ultimately it was just some straight edge tough guy hardcore bullshit (I didn't sing or write the lyrics ) but it was so fun while it lasted. Got tiresome before the end, but it was still probably the coolest thing that happened to me in high school.

I have lots of great memories from my first year of college. Unfortunately shit has only gone downhill since

Apologies for the sappiness of this post

Technically it'd be me even though I'm not the OP. This is just the counter to my thread on the worst experiences of your life.

Meeting my girlfriend for the first time. I've been with her for almost 7 years now. The first time we met we smoked weed and then stayed up all night just talking. We never ran out of things to talk about and we just clicked right away. I'm gonna start looking at rings soon since I finally have the money.

The first time I jammed with a band after years of practicing by myself. I felt like a god even though we probably sucked.

The first time I took mushrooms.

The first time I took lsd with my girlfriend.

The first time I smoked weed.

First time taking mdma with my girlfriend.

Good times!

I can think of several really good times so far.

1. Made love to this absolutely amazing MILF. She was a goddess. Extremely interesting woman with beauty to match. She was very knowledgeable about all kinds of subjects and had very interesting artist talents. She had lived a life. It was a totally grounded and spiritual experience. I've never clicked with another person better than her or felt as safe or wanted. I was recovering from a series of traumatizing relationships and she really fixed me.

2. On 11/4/15 I tried mushrooms for the first time. I had only had 1 previous drug experience but it was with some kind of synthetic "legal" herb and I don't really count it. I took 7 dry grams that I grew myself. I wanted a hard experience; a Dark Souls experience. My trip log looks like the ravings of a madman, but I woke up the next day and felt totally refreshed. I haven't felt that free in years.

3. I beat the hell out of two of my peers in the same day. I was in high school (it was junior or senior year) and had finally been pushed too far by idiots. I think violence runs in my genetics (if you ever met my father you'd understand - dude is like an ancient warrior)... I'm normally a pacifist but I felt like a god after I had mauled those two. I was trained to box from a pretty young age. It was rapturous to let loose and fight. To feel the heavy thuds of my hands against their faces... See their confidence just drain from their eyes and have fear set in... Oh yeah, good stuff. Went to a few parties after that, that had fight clubs and not a soul would duke it out with me. Not even the body builders.

4. Had decided not to attend senior prom to save money on a tux rental. Went to lunch one day and just happened to pop the question to a very cute and popular girl who passed my table... She immediately said yes and was so thrilled that she was bouncing in place with a big smile. The news spread like wildfire and it was at that point that I started to realize I was a person of status.

5. During graduation I had a ton of my classmates (some people I didn't know very well at all) approach me and thank me for being such an influential person in our classes. Everyone that approached me gave me a hug and I ended up having one of the most popular graduation parties out of my entire class. It was pretty awesome and the food was good. I also won the most awards for the mock elections. I won so many that the head of the yearbook group (a teacher who didn't like me) had to get me out of class, ask me to return the titles "so other people can have a chance", and only have my name printed with two.

6. In order to get into my local gun club you have to have a sponsor. I had an offer for sponsorship and I was challenged to shoot an egg at 200 yards with a rifle I had never used (let alone even seen) before. I had three shots and I did it in one. It had been a very long time since I had been able to shoot and regardless, I had never shot at that distance before. I didn't know if the gun was sited in well or not so I just trusted my gut.
