Chantarelle and unknown ID please
    #22489337 - 11/07/15 08:35 AM (5 years, 6 months ago)

Habitat:
In a park, at the base of a fallen tree in Oregon. Lots of green on the ground, in a very damp area. Second mushroom was on the under side of a log in the same area.

Gills:
Brown - goldish, think dirty squash. second shroom had no gills

Stem:
Very thick stem about an inch long. Second mushroom didn't seem to have a stem per se. flowered out of the ground.

Cap:
Yellowish to light brown, Slimy when wet. Second mushroom was super orange and felt almost plastic like with a tiny bit of slime to it.

Other information:
Smells almost mint like but with a mushroom twang and dirt. Didn't sniff the second one.

Chantarelle?

Chantarelle 2

You first mushroom is not a chanterelle, and I think your second one is the orange peel fungus (Aleuria aurantia)

Wait for a Trusted Identifier.

Never seen a chantrelles look like that. Looks sorta like a old decomposing lacturius

no, that's not a chanterelle and it is way past its shelf date whatever it is

chanterelles don't have gills, they just have little ridges that run down the underneath of the cap and stem, and usually are found in the spring (which may be the case if you're in that other hemisphere)

i agree with the cup fungus too
