- 69% of alcohol - 84% of cocaine - 68% of cigarettes
So, if I have ever consumed alcohol, cocaine or cigarettes than I likely have a Mental Disorder?

His "ideology" was nothing Eisenhower didn't say in 1961. You may as well suggest people read Muppet's screenplay for enlightenment.

I doubt you read it, because his view was pretty revolutionary, to the point where many primitivists and libertarians are going back pointing to it

I don't watch tv, I read it without any other influence. You really are a cranky fuck. if I watched it on history channel, I would have a negative view of him, wouldn't I? Didn't they try to paint him as delusional?

In response to your edit, who is hailing this as worth reading? Some kook with a blog? Certainly no one serious about political change in this country.
In response to saying I'm a cranky fuck, yeah, I get like that when stupid people make proclamations about 'what everybody needs to do.'

Quote:
Imagine a society that subjects people to conditions that amke them terribley unhappy, then gives them the drugs to take away their unhappiness. Science fiction? It is already happening to some extent in our own society. It is well known that the rate of clinical depression had been greatly increasing in recent decades. We believe that this is due to disruption fo the power process, as explained in paragraphs 59-76. But even if we are wrong, the increasing rate of depression is certainly the result of SOME conditions that exist in today's society. Instead of removing the conditions that make people depressed, modern society gives them antidepressant drugs. In effect, antidepressants area a means of modifying an individual's internal state in such a way as to enable him to toelrate social conditions that he would otherwise find intolerable. (Yes, we know that depression is often of purely genetic origin. We are referring here to those cases in which environment plays the predominant role.)
while this might happen i don't beleive it it's purely about money, racketing up more diagnosis and numbing the problem they can't even see what chemicals are doing in your brain without killing it it's bullshit

he does make a good point in how our perception is off though. instead of attacking the root cause, they blame chemicals in the brain

It is no measure of good mental health being well-adjusted in a sick society.
I am absolutely the best at being modest & humble.

I got hooked up with a new therapist. The new DSM has come out and he told me my condition doesn't exist anymore and I must be in remission or cured. I'm sure many of you can attest that's certainly not the case if you've read some of my posts...
Because you know, fifteen years of cognitive behavioral therapy and medications just get tossed out the window.
Mental health care is a sad system and a sad societal reflection of love thy neighbor / treat others like you'd want to be treated.
When someone has a bad heart people don't crawl up your ass and judge you and treat you like shit, but when another organ - something important like, you know, the brain - is sick, you're a dangerous monster.
Hide ya kids hide ya wife.

What the fuck.
